Is Eric Crouch the BIGGEST Heisman bust of all time? by iamnitroin CFB

[–]millerlit 0 points1 point ago

I think some of the guys that win the Heisman are a product of their system. Dayne ran behind a massive line. The same situation is happening again with Montee Ball. He runs behind this huge line where he can rack up stats.

Google Vs Bing by Dananddogin funny

[–]millerlit 0 points1 point ago

I used to use a different search engine about 6-7 years ago. I can not remember the the name of it though. It was a cluster search engine. So basically you would do a search like programming. On the right it would categorize the results. It would have something like java, C programming and so on. In the middle of the screen it would have results like any other search engine. You could then click on one of the results on the right and it would narrow your results for you. It was very helpful when researching a very widespread topic.

Reddit, as a classical musician, tell me what we could do better. What is it about classical music that keeps you away from our concerts? by a12345678910in AskReddit

[–]millerlit 0 points1 point ago

I listen to classical music occasionally, and as I age I listen to it more and more. I have gone to one symphony concert, and I left early. The reason I left early was because it was literally putting me to sleep. I think if I had known what was going to be played beforehand I would have opted for a different performance. I think what also stops people from going is they can't afford to go see the symphony or the arts.

The 1976 Oakland Raiders had seven Hall of Famers on their roster if you include their coach, John Madden. Are there any teams you know of that have had that many or more? by sesinm24in nfl

[–]millerlit 16 points17 points ago

The Green Bay Packers in 1961 had 12 including Coach Lombardi. Herb Adderley, Willie Davis, Forrest Gregg, Paul Hornung, Henry Jordan, Vince Lombardi, Ray Nitschke, Jim Ringo, Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Emlen Tunnell, Willie Wood

They also had ten who played in 1966. All the same guys except Ringo and Tunnell.

Would you prefer to have a 3 day weekend (Friday,Saturday,Sunday) and work four ten hour shifts per week, as opposed to the traditional 5 day work week? by kyle-xyin AskReddit

[–]millerlit 0 points1 point ago

I started off working five days a week 8 hours, then went to four 10 hour shifts and now I work three 12 hour shifts. I think I prefer the 10 hour shifts best. Currently four days off sounds great, but the days I work it is basically work and sleep and a few hours to myself. Also my first day off I am so tired and don't accomplish much. I think when I worked four 10 hour shifts I had enough time to get stuff done on work days and also was not tired on my days off.

Stay in the French quarter or within walking distance of this area. Take a stroll down Bourbon st. and enjoy the sites there. Perhaps invest in some beads.

What are your experiences with all-inclusive resorts and/or cruise packages? by systemlordin travel

[–]millerlit 3 points4 points ago

Cruises do not include booze, just food. That is how the ship makes a lot of its money. Also a ship only stays in port for maybe half a day. I never really liked this because I was always afraid of not making it back to the boat in time. It was hard to relax if I am worrying about other things. Mexico is safe in high tourist areas like Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Puerto Vallarta. The borders is where most the violence occurs. When I was in Puerto Vallarta there was probably more Canadians there then Mexicans. It sounds like an all inclusive resort would be most suited for you.

How Teddy Roosevelt reformed College Football by millerlitin CFB

Another interesting thing he outlawed in football was the ability of players to literally throw the running back. I guess one running back had sewn handles into his uniform to make it easier for players to throw him.

I am moving across the country (California to Virginia)! What is the cheapest way to do so (moving pods or just buy new stuff)? Your advice is greatly appreciated! by thee_mzain Frugal

[–]millerlit 3 points4 points ago

I moved across country and this is what my research came across. There are tons of movers that are ripoff artists. Use a major company like Mayflower, Wheaton. You can get a lot more info at www.movingscam.com I moved a one bedroom apartment using Wheaton. I boxed up my stuff. They came by and wrapped up furniture and logged all my stuff. They then moved it onto the truck and delivered it to my new home. They then unloaded the truck into my home. It took about a week to get my stuff. It was all moved safely and costed around $1650. They charge by weight of the load. It was about $300.00 more then what a rental truck would have costed with gas. Yes a rental truck would have been cheaper, but they did the lifting and I was thinking I would hate to get into an accident with all my stuff. Or what happens if I spend the night in a hotel and the truck gets stolen or broken into with all my stuff. I think it was well worth it considering I lived on the fourth floor and a couple things did not fit in the elevator.
Another option is to sell what you can on craigslist and then buy stuff locally when you get to new home.

I have seen that AA fare a few times, but every time it is for round trip option only. The catch is the flight home is about 5 times as much as flight there.

Help! Our friend has gone missing and we all fear the worst by missingfriend1in self

[–]millerlit 4 points5 points ago

My brother went missing and I talked to the fbi about it. They said fill out a missing person report as soon as possible with the local police where he lives. You do not have to wait. Also he said the fbi could not help if it was an adult. An adult has the right to take off and go missing all he wants. He said most men disappear because of another woman or money matters.
