TROPHY CASE

Red Mini skirt on the train by tiitain fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]mike_sol 2 points3 points ago

Believe it or not, they did help me by getting me to read a lot of articles about privilege and marginalization. That said, I don't want the Internet to be a bastion of politically correct self censoring shit. I love it in its raw form - going on seventeen years of consuming everything from the purest goodness of the net to the almost-seediest underbelly - and wouldn't change a thing.

I shave my neck, check my privilege, and respect people of all stripes. I fucking hate circlejerks, though, and SRS is the epitome of that: jerking around, changing nothing, taking things seriously without taking action. They're bullshit to the core.

For what it's worth, Benn Jordan was doing this way before Louis CK, though he probably hasn't made a million dollars off it...

You two should get a copy of Timothy Leary's excellent book 'The Politics of Ecstasy' and focus on the content about making love while high on LSD.

That's something that'll have to stay on my bucket list for a while...

A Christian who doesn't know how magnets work and likes shitty white rap?

So I totally fell for the Lean Cuisine AMA marketing ploy. I think I even saw the AMA guy on the back of the box. Who else already did or plans on buying his frozen dinners now? by advice_givenin self

$4 or so would buy you a pack of fresh ravioli that you simply boil for a while and then slap into some Tupperware. It'd taste better and you could probably get four servings out of that $4. A jar of white sauce and some frozen veggies shouldn't be much more than another couple bucks and you've instantly upped the quality of your food considerably while saving money.

Make your own food. It's cheaper in the long run, tastes better, and is healthier. The tradeoff in time is worth it, and cooking skills are super valuable in life. Lean Cuisines are, in my opinion, terrible fake food for people that can't be arsed to boil their own pasta and chop up a bit of veg.

You may want to consider not using physical force on people in the future.

I agree with your latter two sentences. As a Vancouverite, I find rioters appalling and cannot believe that people can still regress to such an uncivilized state in this day and age. I wouldn't want to be in this Montreal crowd if things got ugly.

At the ideal RPM, rotary engines are pretty efficient, and don't require as much extra hardware as a piston engine does. I could imagine them being cheaper, more reliable, and easier to engineer overall in a series hybrid configuration even if fuel efficiency isn't perfectly maxed out.

Yes, these people using their charter rights to protest a corrupt government that wishes to make advanced education inaccessible are certainly the savages here.

The new 16X engine should hopefully see the light of day in a few years, and it's a slightly narrower but larger engine with direct injection and (rumour has it) laser ignition. Should provide significantly more torque and better fuel mileage, while being lighter due to an all-aluminum construction.

Edit: corrected, it's not wider, it's narrower

A small rotary powering an electric generator and then running an electric engine ala a Series Hybrid might make sense. Something around the 500cc mark would be perfect and take up minimal space under the hood, and the weight savings may be enough to be a significant advantage over using a small piston engine for the same goal.

Anecdotal, but my '05 RX8 has been problem free, and I attribute this in part to 4 oil changes a year with good quality non-synthetic oil, and a regular rev-the-piss-out-of-it session every time I drive.

It's for sale, if anyone in Vancouver wants an RX-8.... ;-)

Alas, I have too busy of a schedule to be much use as a beta tester. I'd be happy to buy a copy of the finished game once it's ready, though. I'm expecting a followup post here when that happens! :D

Visually appealing, looks like a Klotski-style sliding puzzle game where you work through each room? You'll want to have new game mechanics you add to make things trickier as the levels proceed. A level editor would be amazing, too, though free access to new levels stunts a possible DLC revenue stream.
