New Hollinger ESPN Insider article breaking down Spurs vs. Thunder (wall o' text, but a good one) by Sasquatch_Squadin nba

You also didn't play the current Spurs roster either. From what I saw, the last game we played we actually had a shortened roster due to the trades we just made.

Discussion On If Championships Matter by HockeySwagin nba

[–]midnight_illusion -3 points-2 points ago

Championships do matter. No matter how you swing it you will always be remembered as either the greatest player to NOT win a championship or the greatest player ever with X amount of championships.

In the NBA there are bunch of awards as well. You have the divisional winners, conference winners and then the championship. Like your hockey career, it doesn't matter how many divisions you have won or how many times you have won the conference. You are just a "regular season" team that can get it done when the time matters if you don't bring home the big one.

If you aren't playing to win then you shouldn't be playing at all. It doesn't matter how good Lebron James is if he doesn't win a championship (and he may) he will always be remember for just that. One of the greatest ever to NOT win a championship. They won't debate why he was so good, but yet just why he couldn't get it done. His accomplishments would never be fully recognized without a championship.

If Skip's WCF prediction isn't a sign of the coming apocalypse, I don't know what is. by Aikidiin nba

[–]midnight_illusion 3 points4 points ago

I like his predictions. I was listening to yesterdays podcast as well and he called it about the Miami Heat winning. More times than not I find that Stephen A Smith is way off and Skip is a bit closer. May not seem like the logical choice at first, but he gets it right.

He has shut Stephen A. Smiths mouth about the Spurs this year, thats for sure.

No.1 rated high school prospect, Jabari Parker, potentially ruining own development for 2 year mormon camp by chunkablein nba

I'm not religious, but what people choose to believe and not believe is their choice. I respect it no matter what. The Mormons are actually good people regardless of what you may find crazy. They aren't a "Cult" either as some say. Every religion has the extremist and the Mormons are no different. Those people are actually some of the nicest I have ever met.

What the difference in losing two years regardless if its on the front or the back? If he is THAT good he can develop. Just as David Robinson was able to hold on to his talent for two years graduating.

Your a Spurs fan and obviously don't know the story of David Robinson. I'm disappointed.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous your comment sounds?

Not sure why you are being downvoted, but you are exactly right. Robinson got drafted in 1987 but couldn't join the Spurs until 1989 because he had to fulfill his Naval duties. There is no difference between him finishing his military career and this kid fulfilling the wishes of his religion.

Of all people this guy should have known the story of Robinson and been able to relate.

That's alright. He will have plenty of highlight reels once he gets done destroying the Thunder

He has handled him for three games this season already.

First post to r/Fitness. Hoping for to get some advice about my height/weight. by midnight_illusionin Fitness

[–]midnight_illusion[S] 0 points1 point ago

Are you tall and lanky like me? I ALWAYS had weight gain issues and now it's like I can look at food and here we go. I'm not fat, but I am softening up. Maybe this extra weight is what I needed though. I used to be very self conscience at 220-225lbs, but now maybe that is where I just NEED to be.

I will never be a ripped monster....just not in my DNA. I would like to bulk up though.

Sorry, didn't think about reading the sidebar. I'm new!

Edit: Ok, I started clicking some of these links and they are walls of text. Can you at least point me in the right direction that would help answer my height/weight concerns?

Is OKC vs SPURS basically the NBA finals? Or am I insane? by mathan1234in nba

[–]midnight_illusion 0 points1 point ago

But it didn't work.....they lost. Just because you got there doesn't mean it worked. They couldn't do it when it mattered the most.

I wish we could've seen Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls take a shot at the Spurs in the Finals this season. by logicatchin nba

[–]midnight_illusion 0 points1 point ago

Popovich already out coached him with how he treated his stars during the regular season. Thibs would have been on the ropes from the start.

Why the Heat should be worried by holidayvegasin nba

[–]midnight_illusion 4 points5 points ago

I will put money on it that they can't score 70+ a game consistently. The Spurs and Celtics for sure can find a way to shut one of the two down.

[–]midnight_illusion 3 points4 points ago

No, it's not that simple. The Heat are 3 deep. Your saying a team 3 deep can beat teams just as deep as that, but deeper?

Spurs have a back to back game, you know what that means! by derekdangerin nba

I want the Spurs to sweep, but before the playoffs started i thought it would be funny to see pop rest the starters and see our bench win a playoff game.

Kobe Bryant blames Pau Gasol for Lakers' Game 4 collapse against Thunder by m_bird13in nba

[–]midnight_illusion 1 point2 points ago

Kobe needs to be more assertive and get his teammates involved. One who shoots 2-10 in the 4th quarter has no room to start pointing fingers.

Anyone else expect Spoelstra to be gone after this season if the Heat don't make and/or win the finals? by YupYesYeahin nba

[–]midnight_illusion 1 point2 points ago

They had a radio host from Miami say that if they dont make the finals he expects Miami to put the blame on Spo simply because there is no way they get rid of either James or Wade. He also said that if one of the big three were to get traded....he didn't expect James or Bosh to go anywhere. Just a local heat dj, but none the less fans seem to expect heads to roll. They can't get the help that team needs without trading one of them. Haslem was expected to be gone no matter what as well
