Great for your first ever 3D project. You made the mistake that every new user makes and had your camera flying around everywhere. Treat it like a real camera otherwise it won't feel natural :)

It's unlike the Design subreddit to actually give criticism.. I actually think it's pretty good man.

My advice would be to rework the a, b, d, k, p, q and z since it's not clear what letters they are unless you're reading in the order of the alphabet. You're not far off a decent font though :)

Definitely one of the better images I've seen on here :)

I like the style of the chairs, radio, glasses and cups. I assume the scales are off intentionally. My first thoughts would be that the rest of the image needs more of that same style, maybe even more exaggerated. The height of the seat underneath the window is considerably higher than the other chairs.

I think the whole MMO situation is much more complex than "it needs to break from WoW-style of games"

There are MMO's completely different to WoW that have been successful such as PlanetSide and MMO's very similar to WoW that are still successful such as SWTOR. I don't think it's a matter of something new or the same old thing.. I think it really depends on how well the game is made. A lot of MMO developers these days seem to be jumping on the bandwagon trying to create the next WoW but most of them don't have the money or experience to create something that can stand up to games from companies like Blizzard, BioWare, Sony Online etc.

I think the ones to watch right now are Firefall and PlanetSide 2. The original PS was definitely way ahead of its time and I think it's just a matter of time before an MMOFPS really breaks into the mainstream. Definitely makes sense especially looking at the popularity of games like the Halo/Battlefield/Call of Duty series. You heard it here first ;)

Thank you! 17mm is fisheye. The Sony 16mm "pancake" doesn't appear to be advertised as fisheye.. What am I missing here?

Also if I had an 18-55mm. How different can a 16mm be really? Sorry for all the questions.. just trying to understand all this.

Probably. I don't exactly need a camera though. It's just the appeal and the NEX-7 really appeals to me, I don't own a decent camera and my job revolves quite a lot around photography.

I think I'm gonna go for the NEX-7 when I have enough money, the draw of the built in flash + built in viewfinder is too appealing. My main concern now is that I'm spending a lot of money on a camera when there are probably much better value cameras for the same amount of money.

I currently use an Olympus E-400, although it's not mine. I want a professional level camera and I like the look of the NEX series, I don't see why a DSLR needs to be so bulky. Are there any disadvantages to mirrorless? The NEX-7 seems fantastic but £1000 is pretty steep.

I'm looking at a camera with an 18-55mm lens. I can spend more and get a 16mm lens included.. I'm wondering if it's worth the money or if there's going to be very little difference.
