Ubuntu is enjoyable to use. by SharkWhalein Ubuntu

I have only one gripe with 12.04: I wish the dash would appear on key-up rather than key-down.

I like to map the Show Desktop command to Super+D, but upon pressing Super, the dash pops up. Windows handles this the right way I think, but I've been unable to make Ubuntu do the same.

Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 7000 , or HTC One X Intl? by AmpleDeficitin Android

[–]maloney7 2 points3 points ago

I went for the One X and am very happy, particularly with the camera. Everything is so damn fast that my PC now feels sluggish, and the screen blows away any screen I've compared it with.

The Note is too big for me, and I was disappointed with the specs of the S3 as I'd bought into the hype, plus I didn't fancy waiting.

This guy makes me feel better about PHP. I always enjoy reading his posts, and via his work on CodeIgniter he's helped me make a lot of money.

Thare must be someone else that also wants the biggest possible screen on the smallest possible phone, so I made a chart: Screen Area vs. Body Area by tharein Android

Seconded. I put off my upgrade because I thought the new phones were too large until I caved in and got the One X. When I put it next to an iPhone or desire it is miles better, and is still comfortable in the hand and pocket.

The Galaxy Note is a step too far in my opinion. Over 5 inches is just unwieldy for me.

I've given in and learned Python since I wrote that, and it is much better. I'm planning on building all future projects in Django where possible. But finding hosting is a pain in the neck - Heroku looks like the only decent option.

I just wish somebody would design better LibreOffice icons. On a fresh install they cheapen the entire desktop, and are the first things I undock.

How much should I pay for site scalability testing? by TheOceanProjectin Wordpress

PHPfog or Pagodabox could be an answer. You can use a slider to add resources just when you need them. I imagine this would be a significantly cheaper and more flexible route to go down.

You would, however, need to use them for your hosting full time.

Looks great, I'll give it a try. From your experience, is it better than Zen Coding?

It makes me laugh that you can bugger someone senseless at 16 but can't have a cig afterwards to celebrate.

Sublime Text 2 is the best - fast, cross-platform and well designed - until you discover Vim. There's no going back once you start using Vim - its power is amazing. It's the Hulk of text editors.

Javascript:

function sortArray (x) {
   var i, len = x.length, resultArray = [];
   for (i = 0; i < len; i++) {
      x[i] % 2 ? resultArray.push(x[i]) : resultArray.unshift(x[i]);
   }
   return resultArray;
}

testArray = [1, 89, 12, 17, 4, 6, 19, 5, 22, 31, 103, 213, 200, 64];

console.log(sortArray(testArray));

Got my HOX yesterday. I bought it because of its screen, speed, and looks, but what has impressed me the most is the camera. I took some shots while out walking yesterday and the quality of them blew me away. I didn't even change any of the default settings. The camera is blazingly fast too.

The sound quality on videos is also better than on any phone I've used before. I'm well happy.

On a BBC documentary, a German soldier summed up the battle between the Nazis and Soviets nicely: "We were like an elephant and they were like ants. But no matter how many ants the elephant stamps on, sooner or later the ants will overwhelm it. "

Dual booting W7 and Ubuntu, and want to do a clean install of 12.04. by maloney7in Ubuntu

Yes, I meant option 1, thanks for the instructions. I asked because I couldn't believe how easy it was, and thought there must be a gotcha somewhere.

I'm from England and Dublin's the only place I've been where I never wanted to come home. The atmosphere, history, people and the raw energy of the place knocked me out.

All they lack is an NHS.
