It's more like a loose dimmer switch for adolescents.

Sungod stories? Anything interesting happen for you guys? Favorite/least favorite acts? by circasurvivor1in UCSD

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

I think the perfomers' skill level is the primary and dominant factor; the noise pollution (at least in the past, I don't know about this year) hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be (at least IMO), and I've managed to not get distracted or bored when there were good acts on stage.

IN AGAIN (but feel free to assign me as a lyricist instead if needed, which seems to be the case).

I usually go to 光華 and try to haggle my way through. It's not online but is still fairly convenient.

iMovie refuses to import an H.264 video by My_Empty_Walletin applehelp

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

I've had cases where Handbrake glitches and drops a frame or something or whatever, rendering the file incapable of loading in iMovie (or randomly stop playing at whatever given point where Handbrake effed up). Best bet would be to try re-converting or try a different converter.

If you awoke today from a ten-year coma, what is the first thing you would do? by jacobmclaughlinin AskReddit

I would probably have a mental breakdown; I used to have recurring nightmares of this happening.

Hey man, Fergie can say whatever she wants to about her lovely lady lumps; it's well within her rights as a woman.

What are some digital pianos with light, "shallow" action? by getinletsgoin piano

[–]lolstebbo 2 points3 points ago

I've got three perfect piano for you! Yamaha's NP series features the lightest high-quality keys you'll find on any good digital keyboard. They're actually unweighted (but they are graded, so the lower register has a bit more tension). The only problem is you may find the keys to bee too light, but I'm really satisfied with my NP-30.

External graphics card (USB?) by Tantoesin applehelp

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

Unfortunately, you're boned on this front. There are no external graphics solutions that can replace your internal graphics card; it's going to require a replacement of the entire logic board to fix.

Problematic Status Light Indicator by CGSawin applehelp

[–]lolstebbo 1 point2 points ago

Your SLI has become an Affection Indicator. Your computer just wants to be carried and loved.

I honestly don't know; one of the sensors might have gone wonky. Does the computer still sleep normally even with the light not functioning properly?

123 cycles, 65% original capacity, time for a new battery? by Corpsetin applehelp

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

I totally missed out on the 42-month statement and the fact that the computer's from 2009 completely failed to compute in my mind. This is probably why I really shouldn't be.... doing this while at work.

In light of the information that I failed to process the first time around, OP's pretty much going to have to get a new batter on his/her own.

123 cycles, 65% original capacity, time for a new battery? by Corpsetin applehelp

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

Your battery does sound like its decaying faster than it ought to be. You can try your luck with seeing if Apple will provide a replacement, but, as they are not obligated to do so, do be prepared to buy a new one on your own.

Should you choose to buy a third-party battery, I honestly don't know anything on that matter; your computer is of the last user-replaceable-battery generation, though, so safe alternatives should exist.

Nexus Smartphones: Who Wins, Who Loses if Google Launches Android 5.0 in Multiple Handsets? by Viro_Lopesin Android

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

I think the only instances in which Sprint has dealt with SIM cards is with global phones, and I'd say that blocking access to the SIM card isn't necessarily in their best interests. In the case of their LTE phones, it is rather unimportant since no one else is using Sprint's LTE frequencies, so there's no need to be able to access the SIM. That said, if this policy continues to happen on future phones, it could then become a problem.

Nexus Smartphones: Who Wins, Who Loses if Google Launches Android 5.0 in Multiple Handsets? by Viro_Lopesin Android

[–]lolstebbo 0 points1 point ago

I believe Sprint doesn't make the SIM card user-accessible on their phones; at least on the EVO 4G LTE, it's sealed away.

CDMA will likely remain active as a fallback for Verizon and Sprint for a while, though: it's been 7 years for AT&T and 4 years for T-Mobile since they began rolling out their UMTS networks, and the coverage of those networks is still insufficient for them to move away from their GSM fallback. The case will probably be similar for Verizon and Sprint as far as LTE is concerned, so I'd say we've still got a while to go before there can be unlocked devices that work on all the major US networks.
