I was just thinking about a fat old religion teacher i had in high school, she was a 'proud' virgin but not a nun, always talked about offering up her suffering to Jesus, and then would give an example about like wanting ice cream or something. I guess it's sad in a bunch of ways, she just devoted her whole life to some weird idea of what Christianity was about. Also giving me detentions.

MOST people don't get interviews. Most positions are filled from the inside, with friends or for political reasons. You don't get interviews because the default is to not get interviews for resume sends.

Do you have coworkers you can talk to?

I think you could ethically fail a lot of these people, if not all of them. Still, other faculty members have probably dealt with stuff like this before, and it's better for them to know whats going on in your class, from your mouth before they hear it through the grapevine- even if you don't ask for advice.

Sounds like this is one of the tough parts of being a teacher. Glad to see you sticking to ethics and responsibility!
