The problem for me is that the massive amount of gore desensitises you to it. In D1, the dungeons were pretty bare, then you found the butcher's room with all this horrific stuff going on, it had more of an effect.

You don't need to spend heaps on brushes, just get a couple of nice red sable brushes from a hobby shop/ art shop, I like to use size 10/0 and 1. The brand I use is francheville. Probably set you back maybe $5 per brush, or less depending on your stockist. I'd try and find a hobby shop that had another brand of paint, with those layer paints you are basically paying for watered down paint.
