(Quick note: I would recommend using the following strategy while you are learning how to play an auto-attack based AD)

My advice would be to play an AD carry that can heavily focus on high-range poke and/or supporting said carry with a champion that can focus on disengaging from bad fights.

Possible AD carries include Urgot, Varus, Corki, Ezreal

while possible supports could be Janna, Alistar, Leona, Lulu*

play the early game lane normally, having the AD carry farm and the support ward, play as aggressive or as safely as you feel comfortable with, but your mid and late game strategy should be a little different.

In team fights your supports sole job needs to be peeling off the AD carry. Use whatever CC they can to keep the enemy bruisers off the AD carry while your carry is doing their auto-attack thang.

A poke based AD should be firing their abilities and attempting to either get as many members of the enemy team as low as possible before a fight to help turn the odd in your favor, or focusing their poke on one specific target to force them to leave the fight and make it a 4v5.

(* Janna is probably the best choice for a support who can disengage from a fight, as all of her abilities help work to protect the team.)

(** Lulu can be kind of tricky for this role seeing as she has no directly defensive ability to disengage, so if you chose to roll with Lulu that player needs to be careful to manage their abilities correctly)
