TROPHY CASE

Just Finished My Baby! Couldn't Be Happier! by Bonseein Homebrewing

Good work. Few suggestions:

  • Put a clear coat on that bad boy.
  • Add a drip tray
  • Upgrade those faucets to Perlicks to match the classiness of the thing.

What is this indicator i see on injection molded products? by Dr_Oopsin AskEngineers

[–]kerklein2 2 points3 points ago

Yes. Tooling=mold. Well, tooling means a lot of things, but in injection molding it means the mold.

The insert that makes that mark is removable and replaceable, so there's basically a big hole in the tool for it. If you have to make a change near it, it's a big PITA because you might have to fill in that hole and then move it.

How often do you want to quit? by benpatientin Design

The answer is plain and simple. Stand up for yourself. Stop letting yourself get run over by idiots who think they know better. But don't be an asshole about it. Every time this happens, you need to sit the person down and calmly tell them why they are wrong and you are right.

Can anybody name a worse iPhone feature than minimizing the App Store everyfuckingtime you buy something? by wefandangoin iphone

[–]kerklein2 5 points6 points ago

  1. Sure, but a single bar can tell the difference just fine.
  2. Chrome can handle this. Simply place a "/" after your hostname and it goes OR don't, and Chrome will have an option that pops up and says "Did you mean, http://_______/? and you click it and then it remembers it for future visits.
  3. Privacy? Pretty sure any concerns can be alleviated in the settings.

To all the B1G (and I guess, other conference) fans shitting on Jim Delany for backing off of the home site playoff games: a rebuttal from BHGP by letsgetdenardedin CFB

You vastly underestimate what the next Big12 TV deal is going to bring. Estimates are $22-$25mm/school for Tier 1 and Tier 2 rights with Tier 3 (LHN) retained by the school. So suck, it will not. You also don't understand that the LHN only has Tier 3 rights (that means ESPN/ABC and Fox have right of first refusal for any game) so the Big12 has not lost Texas in TV negotiations.

Additionally, while Nebraska is a historical power, they aren't much in the terms of TV deals because of the small TV market. A&M is #2? So good that when combined with your #5, they are worth $0 additional dollars to the SEC TV deal.

A well designed site about the dangers of Fracking by sourguhwapesin Design

[–]kerklein2 5 points6 points ago

Good post, although a little ranty and diatribey, so expect downvotes. I think what needs to be pointed out in the fracking debate is:

  • A well constructed well that's taken all of the proper precautions, should have no chance of contaminating any groundwater.

  • A large percentage (relative to what should be acceptable) of wells do have problems that can cause groundwater contamination.

  • Additionally, improper handling and disposal of fracking fluids is likely the cause of most groundwater contamination, not the fracking itself.

Have you not paid any attention to realignment before this? Everybody says there has been no contact right up until the day of the official announcement.

If you really think nobody from the Big 12 has spoken to people at FSU, you're being pretty naive. Sure, there's been no "official" contact, but they are definitely talking.

Complex shapes like that are difficult to document for manufacturing and then just as difficult to manufacture. Not to mention those are very large panes of glass that are very expensive both to buy and to handle and install.

And, Norway.

[–]kerklein2 1 point2 points ago

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, just stating that a large percentage of team changes are due to trades, not greedy players. Even when players become UFA's, their current team often doesn't want to resign them because it is too expensive.

NBA requires 4 years with a team and 8 years total in the league. Very very very few players that meet that requirement. Probably <1%.
