They may be necessary, but unless the kid cooperates they are useless. Ever see a kid who refuses to play that game? Put the harness on and he lies down on the ground. Doesn't matter where you are, what he's doing, he just goes limp and won't take a single step. You could have a pony juggling ice cream cones while standing in the middle of 50 puppies with tablets running Angry Birds balancing on tables covered with milkshakes and french fries three feet away but as long as that leash is on the options are carry or cart.

You can check with the FCC if they have a similar rule for internet, but if there are multiple cable providers in the area and they must be allowed access to provide you TV service then they will be able to provide internet as well.

I've seen arguments saying that nothing would stop people from marrying multiple partners, animals, or inanimate objects if same-sex marriage was legalized.

Do you really care? Do any of those things hurt you in any way?

We have the largest investment banks in the world committing fraud on a breathtaking scale: naked short sales (which is where they pretend to borrow shares to short) and most recently telling some potential investors but not others relevant data about the Facebook IPO. 1/3 of all homeowners owe more than what their properties are worth (banks again). Over 1/2 of all bankruptcies are related to medical issues and 80% of those happened even though the people had insurance. We have a crumbling infrastructure that can kill people (think collapsing bridges), rampant crime, rampant employment even among those who have a college education, precarious positions in terms of food, energy and water... all kinds of major problems.

And you are worried about the government making sure that somebody doesn't marry a broom.

Would you like to re-evaluate your priorities?
