Is it harder for teenagers (17-18yo) to put on weight? by pandatitsin gainit

[–]kdellz 2 points3 points ago

Easier, your test is high as hell, high school is easy, and you don't have to cook for yourself. High school kids are mostly tiny because they don't know shit about proper diet or training.

Hey, r/cars, my grandparents are in town from Iran and my dad wants to drive them in style. by musicjunkiein cars

Honestly it depends on who you surround yourself with. Most of my labmates partake and we are going for PhDs in a hard science. Shit, my advisor told me about his drug-addled youth many times over.

Taking a lot of anything can have deleterious health effects. Your friend should lay off the speed and get some sleep

That's a pretty big if, and I think the willingness to go to war kind of cemented that secession is not a right of the states.

To be honest, I think it should probably be qualified by university or discipline. There are plenty of examples (some that were in the back of mind, others I didn't even think about) in this little subthread, however I think not allowing a job is more common in the hard sciences, especially when a lot of lab work and publishing are required.

This is their idea of graphic? I was half-expecting to see this guy cut everything off and cauterize the wound with a soldering iron in front of the diners, then cook it hibachi-style right there.

It varies from program to program, but when I was looking at grad programs for neuroscience (and this includes the one I'm in), you're not allowed to do work outside of your studies. This is true for most hard sciences, I imagine. I'm sure humanities and the like are more lax on that.
