They are indeed, they'd been sitting in a dusty old garage for who knows how many years. But someone loved them once upon a time!

Sounds good to me; it's better than nothing! I'll hang on to them until the next time I'm in the city then.

I'm with you, Australia. Canadian here, just realizing that some of the commenters here have very different measuring sticks of what's "too young"...I saw one comment refer to Grade Four/age 10 as "really early". Whoa.

Pretty sure I had been told the basic mechanics (thanks Mom!) by age 5 or 6, and yeah, it made grade school sex ed more manageable. First sex Ed classes were in Grade Four, again in Grade Six, and again in Grade 10. In Alberta we have a mandatory class for all high schoolers called CALM (Career and Life Management), covering everything from food budgeting to writing cheques to, yes, sex education: relationship skills, medically accurate contraceptive and AIDS information, you name it. My teacher for that class happened to be Catholic; I wonder what that would've been like if we had some version of that 'conscience clause' that's kicking around the USA.

Anywho, short answer, Canada/UK/Australia/Scandinavia seem to have it right.

Second term of a year-long Intro to Sociology course. The prof is quickly going over capitalist vs. communist societies. A young woman in the front row puts her hand up: "Promise you won't laugh, but what's capitalism?"

The prof lost it.

My admittedly limited understanding of Christian thinking is that the idea is that all diseases result from The Fall. Having said that, it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

1) Do procedures differ at all depending on the person's religious affiliation?

2) What is your opinion of "eco-friendly" burial options (as some people object to the use of chemicals/preservatives)?

Good luck!

I have a hunch that your religious affiliation (in this case, lack thereof) will be a focal point of the interview. Atheism may or may not be a dealbreaker for them. For example, the applications at my local Salv Army claim only that you must be willing to work "under Christian principles" or something to that effect. (Strangely enough, I didn't see that requirement listed anywhere on their website.)

I didn't see any mention of married couples in that list. I wonder whether the age difference between the young person and their partner would be considered an issue if they are legally married.
