California needs a non-insane spokespeople. I have suggested the Mythbusters a few times; they show the fun side of shooting and are level-headed, rational, intelligent, and most likely liberal (they're from the bay area).

Another idea is to get more of the gay community involved. They are almost entirely liberal and are often targets of assault due to their sexual orientation. Educate them that they have a right as an American to defend themselves, and the state's ridiculous gun laws will be in the spotlight and change will occur.

The thing with the US is that we have over 200 years of guns. It's too late for prohibition; if guns were all banned, the black market would thrive even more than it does now.

edit: Look at NYC as an example. There is so much red tape to go through to get a handgun, they're practically banned, yet the poor business owners are STILL getting robbed at gunpoint. If guns are "banned" in NYC, where did the robbers get the gun? It's a legitimate question.
