I just got a call from an SEO scammer, anyone else experienced this? by illspiritin web_design

We are not robots, were capable of making changes, researching results, then adjusting. That's what we do for a living. But thanks for treating us like monkeys with keyboards.

First of all, you don't have to be salacious and insulting to get your point across.

Wait, didn't you start this game? Let's just leave this at us both knowing a lot. I'm too busy to rebuttal this wall of text right now. I'm sorry I insulted your livelihood and wish the best of luck to your clients.

I'm actually amazingly fast on my iPad. I thought I was going to have trouble too until I got used to it.

"Indexation" means something else all together, The fact that you guessed/made up a word totally qualifies my previous reply.

The web developer definitely should know page architecture. The right way is the only way they should be building it. It's not exactly hard to lay things out semantically and cleanly.

What do you mean by localization/globalization? multi-language? location specific content? Are you just throwing out words again to make your list look more impressive?

Keyword research is really the only "SEO" related thing you've listed. And as I've mentioned, it's not that hard, it doesn't require a full time asshat who makes himself look busy.

LC building & NAP - I'm pretty sure you are just using synonyms of other impressive list items at this point.

How do you communicate with a crawler? You should be doing a basic Google and Bing submission, reporting a robots.txt and sitemap, and then fucking off. The only other reputable crawlers are stealing results from these two anyway.

Conversion rate optimization is best handled with A/B testing. Definitely something that developer would have a better grasp on. Google analytics reading isn't a trade you have to go to school for.

Finally, of course, the current state of the algorithms and what not to do... Lets just get this out of the way right now, you know fucking nothing. None of us do. Don't try to tell me you have insider information when there is no way for you to have any more info than anyone else who is completely in the dark.

I'm only being defensive because you insulted me at the very start of your post.

Nope, not really. Any web developer should know this. Hell my marketing team is even good at keyword usage in content. It's not rocket science, it's a market that was invented by SEO monkeys in order to make a paycheck. Every successful SEO guy I've met talks over the heads of clients with absolute bullshit technical terms that don't mean anything in order to create the impression that an SEO guy is really needed. It's straight up scamming.

I'm a drummer as well. You'd be surprised how steady that foot can be. That said, there are lots of people who think they have rhythm and are all over the place.

I'm hoping Oracle decides to close the source. That would speed the process up a bit.

It works great out of the box for me. PGadminIII is like the best MySQL client ever made, only for Postgres. Your company should really let the technical people have a say in the technical decisions. If somebody in my dev or IT team here said something was "too hard", they'd probably be replaced pretty quickly.

By being an Internet Tough Guy (Political Version)?

Actually, I protested quite a bit this year already.

As for the rest of your comment. I agree it's not as bad as early France, however, that is not reason to allow the government to erode their rights. Just because other places have no rights and no control over their government doesn't mean we should allow our government to match them.

The government wants nothing more than peaceful protest so that they can ignore it. Look at past successful peaceful protests, yeah, I know it's hard to think of one. The only quasi-peacful protests that ever worked was blocking military supply lines. Thus causing the government to have to do something about it. They would be happy as hell if they knew it was just going to be some inert group of people walking the streets.

People are getting violent because this protest has already shown, peaceful protest DOESN'T WORK. There comes a point when you have to raise the stakes a little.

If it's completely kiosk based, why in the right mind are you using Windows? You'll probably get a lot more power out of your hardware with a linux setup.

So you admit a bias, as I would let her teach my children with her appearance. As long as she was a qualified teacher. Basing your opinion on appearance is indeed discrimination.

I would assume she's not going to come to school to teach the class wearing a nurse outfit and rubber gloves. She probably doesn't shoot album covers every day. I'm also pretty sure the look of the photo was described to her and she was coached by a photographer on her facial expression, glove stretching technique, etc.

Looking haggard in a mugshot is also fine, I'd assume if she was going to work, she'd look a little better. By the time she got to the station for photographing, she was probably having a bad day.

The fact that it is a mugshot obviously has some bearing on her ability to work with children, but based on appearance and past work experience alone, I don't see a problem with it.

They should be clean. No one is perfect, but kindergarten teachers shouldn't have hours and hours of adult media. Plain and simple. It is morally wrong.

Instead of stating you were wrong, just stop saying wrong things. It's less work.

[–]joshuajonah -1 points0 points ago

WHY? Because you have a personal bias and are judging people on physical appearance and your own holier-than-thou likeness and morals. Porn is the oldest profession. I have watched porn since I knew what it was. I am a normal person with a wife and children. If my teacher was a porn star, it would not have changed a thing about that.
