What annoys you the most about buying books? by NipperAllenin books

[–]jonakajon 0 points1 point ago

What? A book costs USD$15 in the US and AUD$23 in Australia. And the Australian $ is on par with the US$. No. Particularly when Borders, when they were here, were selling the US editions for AUD$15-$17.

No. The author is not getting the extra money.

Amazon expect me to pay AUD$9 for an ebook. Fuck that. $0.99c is one thing. $9 is stupid.

And the publishers wonder why people pirate ebooks.

Suunto watches are not cheap @$250. Did you buy the knife after you bought the watch?

Nice watch though.

Get a large second hand 4 stroke dirt bike or road-trail bike and put street tires on it.

If you drop it it wont break. It sits tall so it can accommodate your height. If you need to you should be able to easily stiffen the suspension to account for your weight.

They have low gearing and lots of torque. It is a good beginners bike, requires little maintenance and fun to play with

Diskworld series. Better than HP -in my opinion, 39 books in the series, fantasy, comic, magic.

Story arcs within the series. The Witches. The worlds worst Wizzard (sic). The City Watch.

Some great books. A good book series.

Gf wants crazy things to do in bed by marktrudeauin sex

1 Make her wait for it. Tell her you will do it later

2 Tell her she cannot masturbate, climax, have sex without your permission

3 Do not give her permission but tease and touch her.

4 Verbally abuse and degrade her

5 Make her wait longer

6 Tell her to change into a sexy outfit...tease and touch her then make her change into some thing different

7 Tie her to the table for 30 minutes and then totally ignore her.

You ge the idea...keep it up for hours as long as you can...a day, three days. Make sure she doesn't get herself off. Spend from Friday night to Sunday night doing this and confine her to the house. Then have a massive session

You will find that ignoring her will send her crazy mad.

Anais Nin. Particularly if you liked Tropic of Cancer. She helped edit it. Her and Miller both wrote commissioned eroticism for the same guy.

Start with 'The Delta of Venus' and go from there.

Rolex Unicorn by JimmyCheeseballin Watches

[–]jonakajon 0 points1 point ago

Stick my neck out here and say that in the 1920's there was a Unicorn watch movement and that at that same period Rolex owned the Unicorn name.

If a Rolex branded watch using a Unicorn movement ever existed is a question for experts.

[–]jonakajon 1 point2 points ago

I am not in the USA. I have bought several watches from Amazon. One didn't arrive. Amazon sent a replacement, no questions asked. Granted it was a cheap Casio but still.

Anyway, about 6 weeks after I got the replacement watch the original watch turned up. After a bit of thought I emailed Amazon and told them it was actually delivered and asked nicely if I could keep it. Thinking I had a pretty good chance of being allowed to do so given the expense Amazon would have organizing pick up, cost of return postage and so forth.

They emailed back within two hours saying 'Yep. Keep it. Thanks for telling us.'

Good public relations and keeping the expenses down so they can sell more, cheaper.

Mary Gentle... Grunts

The story follows a group of orcs who always find themselves on the front lines of battle against the carefully prepared and always triumphant forces of good. The orcs decided to organize themselves and fight back. As a satire of high fantasy the novel mocks most of the conventions of the genre from using traditional villainous races, orcs, as the protagonists, to having the noble characters have much less than noble motivations and secrets.

The opening of the book plays up the orc warleader sent to reclaim a weapons cache in preparation for the 'Last Battle' between good and evil, which is well on its way. They are assisted by a pair of halflings whose cute demeanor is contrasted with extremely violent acts.

Spoikers below. Spoilers, too.

The orcs uncover a dragon's hoard of modern military weaponry, which is endowed with a geas that transforms their minds into replicas of the stereotypical United States Marine Corps mindset, during the Vietnam War. Gentle continues the storyline through the Last Battle and the orcs' integration into society, along with a military threat that rivals the orcs themselves.

A good book

Orcs, elves, mages, dark lords. What more do you want? Aliens? The Kraken? Them too.
