Througout my life, I've had 4 "best" friends. And every one(save for the most recent one--we'll see about him) have faded with time or distance. I wish I could offer more encouraging words, but what I will say is once you recognize the cycle, you can cherish the moments you spend with them even more. I hope you find a friend. To be able to do whatever, whenever I want without any thought to when I'll be home. It doesn't happen often, but there's nothing as awesome as leaving Friday morning, and not coming back till Sunday afternoon and the place is exactly as I left it.

I'm asexual. I save tons of money on dates, I get to come and go from my house whenever I please, and I don't have to deal with any of the drama that's seen so often on this subreddit. Plus, I'm aromantic so I don't get lonely either. It's fun being an island.
