TROPHY CASE

Is there a way to rename TF2? by resephin RUGC_Midwest

[–]jmcqk6 1 point2 points ago

Make a shortcut to tf2 on the desktop. Rename the shortcut, then add it as a non-steam game. I have no idea if that will work or not, but if you really want to try it, that might work. You'll lose some stat tracking, though (basically, hours played)

"Most people aren't smart enough to make their own decisions so we need to ban certain types of speech to protect those people from themselves."

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. We already do this with tobacco. We need to do this with pharmaceuticals that require a prescription. If someone has, say, high cholesterol, they may not even have the access to the materials required to find out if a certain drug will work for them, to say nothing of the knowledge required to understand the material, or the willingness to even seek them out. In my experience, in fact, people tend to lack all three of those.

grey area should be taken seriously

Then we agree. My point that was by just saying "conception" you weren't taking it seriously; you were just ignoring it.

You seem to have a hard time dealing with non-absolutes. Just because there isn't a black & white line doesn't mean we should throw our hands up in the air and give up.

How about when the fetus has a functional brain? There are other possibilities as well, and you would having to define "functional" and there's all sorts of issues surrounding it, but it's at least it's better than 'conception.'

A fertilized egg is nothing more than a cell that has the potential to eventually turn into a human being, and if that's the metric you want to use, every time you scratch your nose, you're committing genocide. It's a ridiculous line to draw, and the only non-religious reason I can see for drawing it there is to avoid the gray areas any other line would create.

Advertisements for medicine targeting anyone but doctors should not be legal. The average person lacks the knowledge required to make a decision about the medicine they need. All it does is pollute and confuse medicine in this country, and it needs to stop.

You bastard, you changed your comment!

And yes, that happens to be the lab where I work, though I don't spend too much time in the lab anymore.

I'm not sure about this. Will Steam be able to host UI mods like SkyUI?

Yeah, I know. I thought I would give it a shot anyway. You never know who might be lurking around.

I did a lobby last night, and it was a timely reminder of just how good midwest is to medics.

If you don't have a microphone to coordinate when you want a kritz, I'll probably just decide for you when I'm going to activate kritz. Or I'll change my mind and kritz someone with a mic.

Concerning this. If you're fully over healed and hit the medic button, I'll assume you want the charge deployed and try to do so.

I wish Schrödinger played deadringer spy, so that the enemy team would occasionally ask "Is he dead?" And I could chuckle to myself at the accidental humour of the statement.

I've tried doing this, but I really suck playing spy. Perhaps next time shenanigans are on, I'll go dead ringer and do exactly this.

I miss playing with y'all.

There's a guy whose been on named 'melonpan' and I keep thinking it might be you. I was disappointed to discover this was not the case.

This is so very true, so I hope I didn't sound too negative in my post. The sandvich thing especially. I've been saved countless times by heavies giving up their sandvich.

Same here, especially since Midwest has good scouts who actually flank the opposing team to pick medics, and take care of annoying snipers, scouts and spies

Oohhh, an excellent point that reminds me of something I forgot. Be on the lookout for those scouts! There's been a few rounds where a team will constantly just ignore scouts as they fly by to get behind us. I don't know how this happens, but I know if I see that, it's going to be a bad day for medicing.

Also, by having a network of friends, you can run PUGs, which are always a lot of fun.

Well, before that, we also had the silly server, which was populated about 1% of the time, usually after an update, when it would be updated but midwest would not.

windows OEM from the Microsoft repository

Can you maybe explain this a little better? What exactly are you talking about? Is there a website somewhere that I can type the windows key into that came with my computer and download a windows 7 install? I googled, but it wasn't apparent.

“Mitch Daniels ... Isn’t he the former Bush budget director who said the Iraq War would cost $50 billion when it ended up costing $3 trillion? The one that predicted federal surpluses in 2004 and 2005? Why the hell should we listen to him criticize Obama?” by reeds1999in politics

I've never understood why those pro-free market are against unions, especially since the banning of unions and things like collective bargaining are themselves regulation.

Anytime someone comes around and says they're anti-regulation, ask them what their opinion is on unions and patents (which are also a type of regulation) and see what they say.

Oh, I agree, cheney should have been crucified for that whole affair, but I have a hard time seeing the dishonesty of claiming that this particular issue is solely because he spilled the beans on torture.
