Boomerang Attack on FEAL-6 Tutorial by jkthecjerin crypto

[–]jkthecjer[S] 2 points3 points ago

Finished writing this page up recently and thought you might enjoy. I really recommend reading my differential cryptanalysis of FEAL-4 page first unless you have a solid grasp on this stuff already:

http://theamazingking.com/crypto-feal.php

I also made a little Khan-Academy-style scribble video in which I walk through this boomerang attack. While I am not nearly as talented as Mr. Khan, it may help you out if you get stuck:

Assa makes awesome locks but they are not perfect...

I've found the false sidebar gates on the Twin 6000 to be way less forgiving than those of the v10 (shown picked by me above). With both, you can let off a little tension, reapply, and try to lift a "picked" sidepin inside its gate. If you feel binding inside the gate, you know its in a false set. From here you should continue letting off tension and lifting to get out of the false set and into a new (hopefully real) one. You end up become a human pin-and-cam decoder. Here is a video of me explaining what little I know about how to approach these sorts of sidebars (although, in the end, I never picked the 6000 fully pinned):

Good luck, they are frickin hard.

The second wrench from the top on the left (twisted with a pointed handle)...

Do you remember where it came from? It looks completely identical to one I made years ago. I give tools to folks at Defcon, etc.. all the time and that one looks super-familiar and got me wondering.

Hi Melvin! :-D

I haven't updated the site in a while because the Navy has me crazy-busy training for another deployment with the Army. As soon as things settle down, I'll start working on content again.

PS: It was a tent on a flight deck ( http://theamazingking.com/images/trip-cvn70.JPG ) ;-)

I know scorche and schuyler in the real world and have worked with both of them on projects. They are awesome and sincere dudes. Shoes will find a way to make this project work, just have patience.

Speaking of Securekey/Smartkey, I saw a Master knockoff at Walmart the other day. Anyone got a breakdown of that floating around yet?

I poked around the web and couldn't find anything about it.

"It would be like $2,500 for the LEDs alone."

"Also, even if they'll order those for you, you gotta buy 1000 of them, so that's $1200 on the leds."

I will agree with you on one point: Still a ton of work :-)

Perhaps the above price provides a good point to start pricing regardless of whether or not that particular part is available at this moment. This is preferable to just pulling numbers out of your ass :-)

Also, I'll hook you up with SMD, bro: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/OSRAM-Opto-Semiconductors/LRTBC9TP-CWD5-1+D5E7-25+A/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtKo6xK7%252bVI1paXb%252b0rAFVViV%2ftMG5BU04%3d

Navy IA + ACU Patches? by jkthecjerin Military

[–]jkthecjer[S] 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Thanks for the feedback all. I was the only guy running around in DCUs so patches weren't an issue at all over there. Not having earned it in a combat zone would mean that I shouldn't wear anything on my right shoulder, right? What about left?

That said, I was receiving IDP/Combat pay (http://usmilitary.about.com/od/fy2009paycharts/a/combat.-uV_.htm) while there. Lived in the middle of nowhere with a great team and played RTO on CA missions to villages every day. If the standard isn't combat pay, I'm not sure if my deployment was hardcore enough, but I wasn't exactly a TOC-dweller :-)

I've found the trick is to twist the pick and lever off whatever wards can support you (dont lever hard, though).

To what degree do you expect our government and corporations to attempt discrediting/sabotaging/etc.. these movements. Will there come a time that intelligence operations are actively run against them? Is it likely that its happening already? What tactics would you employ as a case officer if tasked to disrupt OWS?

Is the whole thing still too small-fry to get that sort of attention?
