One probable source is Mars. evidence shows that it used to have running liquid far in the past, suggesting the possibility that life developed there in some form.

It's possible that an asteroid collided with Mars, launching debris into space with microbes living in the cracks. If this debris reached Earth (we still get Mars rocks hitting Earth today), it could be that these were the seeds of life on this planet.

I'm worried about this too but this project has gone from $10,000 to $20,000 donated in about 30 minutes. as long as the project keeps getting shared with others it seems like they won't have much issue getting another $80,000 over ~5 weeks
