I wouldn't hire you because you just admitted that you spent an entire week sending out resumes from an address you didn't want to use. If I knew this my first thought would be "how could a person send out resumes not for just a day or two but all week from an address they didn't mean to?"

I like the fact that people are upset about it. Maybe some are getting a little too butthurt and maybe we are seeing too many posts but it shows that people care. Virtual or physical Reddit is a community that has created a fairly unique environment. The fact that people want to preserve the core of that is great. I like that people care. If the majority says "we don't want him pandering us all TMZ style with a movie promo under the guise of an AMA" and they let him know it I appreciate that.

Sure... next time this happens whatever PR agent suggests it will have a little guidebook and shit ready but reddit still has a pretty good bullshit meter.

Maybe but it helps maintain a level of standards. For example, It's part of why I like /r/askscience. Those bitches are serious over there. It's about asking scientific questions not a lot of joking around. We need places like that so they keep a level of standards in place.

We are doing the same with /r/AMA. The communities are self policing to the standards people desire.

I'm not really good at guessing the age of kids but I'd say he is probably between 3 and 5. I doubt he has any deep understanding of what war or death is at this age. Or what it means to put that uniform on and salute. It was clearly posed and thought out picture from an adult. They put the helmet there, they dressed the boy, they bought the flowers and then told him how to stand and what to do while they snapped a bunch of pictures.

The child probably has no understanding of any of this. It's an adult acting out their emotions with, presumably their own child, and it's not like this is pageant moms re-living the feeling of being young and pretty through their kids. This is war, death, no father... very strong emotions.

I understand where you are coming from but I wouldn't bundle together the subreddits. In one you are talking about things like Ancient Aliens and MKULTRA while in the other you are talking about practical ways to purify water, first aid, etc.

I feel like there's a lot of misconceptions about the shower and basement situation. If you've been to the last meetup, you will know that jasenlee (the host) has a pretty candid and sometimes pervy sense of humor. But it's all in good fun, like the innocent flirting we do on these subreddits all day. He really wants everyone to have fun and is really sensitive of anyone feeling uncomfortable.

It's not. It's a lot of carefully planned events all with gayming. You will have gayming at locations across the city each day with other events including Dodgeball, Millennium Park, food outings, etc. If you can find some time to orgy it up between everything on the schedule good for you but I've said from day one this isn't an orgy.
