Nestea was on KT with Flash as well, so...

Upcoming Release Dates For The Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note And Huawei-Based myTouch Devices by kyan-in Android

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Yeah meh... I wish Samsung added support for the S Pen on all their new phones, SGS3 would have been beyond perfect with S Pen support. But I think I'll probably still get it over the Note because of the hardware.

That's a good point. But I think they're reasonably well located for a live audience eventually since they're near LA, I imagine once they get a studio big enough for a live audience they could get a decent live audience.

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Oh OK. I would probably go for the SGS3 anyway but that's partly because I'm a bit impatient and there's always something new coming out. But Nexus phones are a bit more future proof than other Android phones. No idea what the odds of Verizon getting one of them are though.

I really appreciate when organizers go the extra mile to make sure all pro players know about chances to be in their tournaments, even the lesser known ones. HomeStoryCup guys are great. by Pokebunnyin starcraft

Are you guys going to commentate proleague again? It was pretty awesome with you and Sayle but I guess the games aren't really that good and it's not practical for you guys to do it all the time.

I don't know where you got the idea that school in the US is free. I was actually looking into a Masters at USC which is where Day9 went and it costs $40k/year before any scholarships or financial aid.

Edit: I fail at reading, nvm.

Considering that unlimited data is going away, I would get the SGS3 as soon as possible, assuming you're currently grandfathered into unlimited. Otherwise it's hard to say considering last year's Galaxy Nexus launch as others said, who knows if they'll actually launch the device on time (it could be a paper launch).

James "2GD" Harding to Sundance and Lee about MLG and KeSPA exclusivity by Dearnin starcraft

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Eh, Day9 talks about how he used to rage a lot just like Artosis. It's just that he prefers to keep the actual acts of raging out of sight.

Edit: Which I guess is what you mean by "Day9 is a brand." I agree in general.

Yeah, MLG and IPL are both tournaments, not leagues, and I really feel like what we need more of are long format leagues, not weekend tournaments, for the scene to become stable.

So I'm due for an upgrade through Verizon in about another month, is the Galaxy S3 the phone I should wait for? by N736RAin Android

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Hmm, at least they said they'll announce further details before the move, so I can make plans if something happens. I wouldn't mind settling for the Galaxy Nexus I guess, but I really want the SGS3, even if it's dual core.

EG has a ton of money to buy players, why don't they buy a korean coach? by will999909in starcraft

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure the top KeSPA teams pay their players more in total than EG does. I guess it's unclear what the situation is now though with teams disbanding and such, but SK telecom and KT seem like pretty strong sponsors.

[–]iofthestorm 0 points1 point ago

Hmm, let's hope so. I still kind of want to jump ship to T-Mobile but the problem is that if I wanted to do that I'd have to wait until my Verizon contract is up, whereas I can upgrade 3 or 4 months early, and I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with the low memory of my Fascinate.

The thing is it sometimes looks like EG is buying players after they win a tournament (eg. Thorzain) but these things take time, and usually they started the process much before the actual tournament win. Perhaps knowing that EG wants to hire you is enough to help people win.

Flash's contract is $500k for 2 or 3 years, I forget which.

Knowing Verizon, they'll probably kill unlimited data just before the SGS3 launches, although I'm hoping they wait until after.

It can be helpful if the casters and observer communicate, and sometimes it seems like they do that, but I'm not sure if that's always the case.

Also his map presence was pretty noticeably better than most SC2 players, he had lings all over the map all game and there were some instances of zergling micro which I feel looked better than other SC2 players, but that's harder to gauge when SC2 zergling AI does so much by itself.

His play really reminded me of zergs a year ago just running into forcefields and dying, I think he'll figure it out.

Yeah, but there is an element of metagame and such that he probably doesn't have (I actually didn't catch the first set of BW games so I have no idea what actually happened). But then I haven't watched BW since SC2 release so I wouldn't know any better anyway. Plus I'm terrible at both.

Are you both commentating both games? It'll certainly be interesting to see you guys cast the game that you're less familiar with, maybe we'll see different opinions/ways of thinking that aren't normally seen.

According to the rules players have to alternate appearances between BW and SC2 so if he plays BW today he has to play SC2 in his next appearance.
