Learn French, Canada, it’s good for you - The Globe and Mail by Adajeannein canada

[–]ilovemodok 2 points3 points ago

I've lived both in east and west Canada, bilingualism could help both, but not French necessarily. Cantonese should be taught in BC (at least) the same way French is in my opinion.

I would certainly support learning French in Ontario and east thereof. I regret not paying mind to learning it while growing up in northern Ontario.

Learning French in BC though? Short of talking to fruit-picking hitchhikers, you'll have a tough time using French in any real conversations here in BC. Learning Cantonese or Mandarin or even Japanese would really open up Canada globally, living closer to the ideals of multiculturalism that we take such pride in.

Anyone living in the Lower Mainland/ Vancouver Island especially. French or Cantonese. What would you get more out of day-to-day do you think?

pen & paper recommendation by mixme1in Design

Start light with a 2h, then with heavier (more confident) lines later, use HB to 2B. I use cheap printer paper on a dollar store clip board. I find using an expensive notebook and pencils puts your work "on a pedestal", leaving you second-guessing yourself too much when you should be letting loose.

Inking tools is all about preference, I like them all. Felt tip pens are probably the easiest to get started, then nibs, then brushes.

The cheaper the better (to a degree) in my opinion. Don't spend more than $10-20 if you can. The only extra expense I'd recommend is a genuine weasel fur brush for a great inking experience.

Yeah, there's no booze there. People are usually doing other stuff or just enjoy the dancing, so some prep work is often in order.

Are there still crazy parties after college? by nevercommentin seduction

[–]ilovemodok 2 points3 points ago

Find ways to travel lots. I head to cities around Asia a lot and it's party central in many of the big cities no matter your age I find.

Also, living in big cities helps tons. Look for your career by having a good time/ talking with people all over at parties (while developing your proper career skills as well of course). The career and confidence is built by looking out and going to lots of social events. Social events have given me more gigs than raw skill, but having the skill at the moment of meeting the right person is gold. It's made my career truth be told. That's how I run into parties anyways, meeting clients. Friends through clients, etc.

Hope that makes sense, I'm just getting into the /r/seduction scene, but have had a career into my 30's that invites a fair amount of parties at times.

Might be generational. My older brother LOVED this show, it scared the SHIT outta me. I still feel sick in the pit of my stomach when I see it, even though I appreciate the humour now.

Always proud to be Canadian, despite the alienation I receive for not enjoying hockey.

Looks like he grabbed the image and drew his own over top of it to me. You don't see that with the animated gif?

Why the name calling?

Here's a comparison.

At least he redesigned it and made it more his own/ better. I'll give him that. Would he have come up with that idea on his own independently of this other design? I somehow doubt it.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I consider the actual idea to be a lot more difficult than the execution of any job. That's just my ideal workflow.

True it's common and I've been in situations like this. Where people create a common solution that many would have come to. That's cool by me, it's happened to me.

This, on the other hand, looks like a swipe.
