If you are at university, see if you have access to Factiva or even better, LexisNexis. Both have newspaper databases going way back. Factiva tends to be bigger papers, LN has small papers and news agencies.

Also, Google has imaged a lot of old newspapers. You can try the archive search here:

One other thing ... you should be able to go down to the city clerk in N Brookfield and pull the death certificate if you are a relative. You can also pull the birth certificate if she was born there. Good luck.
