If you would like to know jet engines above SRBs will cause the SRBs to explode.

I did not know that. I will have to use that in the future

Yeah I know about the balance issue. I have been slowly correcting it but it is difficult balancing enough thrust and fuel to get to orbit and light enough to take off.

What do you mean by locking fuel flow?

I have the opposite problem. Mine all like to pitch up and just keep spinning. getting a spaceplane into orbit is REALLY hard.

Would it be worth it? by GreenSquidin Fitness

as an engineering alum it is not hard to find an hour a day if you plan your day. During my motivated semesters I found if I didn't procrastinate I had plenty of time for the things I wanted to do. That being said its not easy but if you lift this summer and love it you will find the time.

I broke my collarbone a year ago, are power cleans okay to do? by canadafurdayzzin weightroom

[–]idontalwaysupvote 0 points1 point ago

Oddly specific as I have broken my left collar bone twice and also do power cleans with no problems.

From my understanding after about 3 months the cartilage is as strong as the bone before breaking, and after 6 months the bone has fully healed.

Every year, some rookie does this... by hobbes727in ultimate

[–]idontalwaysupvote 13 points14 points ago

wham-o's are stiffer which changes how the disc bends when thrown. this changes the "feel" of the disc and causes bad throws. Also the lip is a bit thicker changing how you should approach catching the disc. These problems would be fixed if we used wham-os more frequently but I also find that they crack and taco easier which would be why nobody wants to spend money on them.

I will keep my hopes up then. I am sure I was at a distinct disadvantage as I live in Chicago, but am moving soon so maybe that will help.

Also I like your username

Transmission Line Engineering (long story) - 1 yr

Although this was about a month ago. I am unemployed now and getting ready to move to Seattle.

Also Fun Fact: If you want to do transmission line engineering don't it is as boring as it sounds.

not to be nosy but how did you get Boeing to call you back. I have applied to dozens of positions but have never received any correspondence back.

Has anyone ever successfully demanded a city from the AI? If so, how'd you do it? by KingJapharin civ

[–]idontalwaysupvote 4 points5 points ago

I have been offered cities before but I almost always refuse cause I am just going to roll through the entire place. On the flip side I find that when I am at war and over extended and want to call a peace giving them back one of their captured cities goes a long way towards turning a war mongering neighbor into a "friend" for at least a couple of turns.

Do-it yourself Skylight help by dlatz21in ultimate

[–]idontalwaysupvote 1 point2 points ago

I have never made one but you should be able to make one spending 10 minutes in the PVC section of your hardware store (just see what fits together in a way that you like) 2 magnets, a crappy disc and some super glue.

What is your most memorable gym fail? by IThinkImFunnyin Fitness

[–]idontalwaysupvote 8 points9 points ago

Haven't actually puked yet but I decided to go to the gym while sick and it was a poor choice. I started that pre-puke spasm on my last rep got the rep up and on the rack and managed to keep the puke down. It was a close call though.

How to improve in an area without club teams? by DownvoteForTreesin ultimate

[–]idontalwaysupvote 0 points1 point ago

If you will be home in early May Ultimate Chicago is putting on camp Iwannahuckit. Which looks like it will be a lot of fun. also there is summer league but If you are in the burbs you may not want to come into town ever week to play but maybe you should look into it. Also there are several more organized style pick-up games around town if you want. at least go to Ultimate Chicago and look around or make a post on the forums.

Aluminum vs. steel. Weight vs. strength. Make this structure both strong and lightweight. Is it always a simple problem to solve? by florinandreiin AskEngineers

[–]idontalwaysupvote 2 points3 points ago

Short answer is no it is never a simple as steel is always better than aluminum. there are certain types of steel that have a better strength to weight ratio than aluminum the best types of aluminum but they are usually expensive or hard to manufacture or procure or something. there is always some downside to the material (or any design choice really) you choose but sometimes the need out weights the cost, or procurement issues. If there was some miracle material out there that was in every way better don't you think everyone would be using it?
