TROPHY CASE

  • Two-Year Club

If someone just came out of a 10 year coma what highlights would you show to summarize your team's performance over the past decade? by Pup420in nfl

[–]hulk_krogan 0 points1 point ago

Honestly if they were a fan before the coma and missed the last ten years, then they'd probably be fine with all of the last decade. The 90s were a horrible time to be a Bengals fan. While the early 00s were only a marginal improvement, it's still better than what we were and the latter half of the decade wasn't so bad.

I'd want to open up by saying something along the lines of "Mike Brown has gotten lazy in his old age and is finally ceding control over to people who know what the fuck they're doing so the future is bright", however, I think letting him know Mike Brown is still alive might put him back into the coma.

Yeah, I've been going through all their videos. So far, Dilwonk is probably my favorite just for the last punchline.

This is the thread where all fans come and ask questions about other teams, and the fans of those teams answer those questions? Simple Enough? Ok, let's go! by coolguy696969in nfl

I want to explain my downvote because I don't want it to seem like a pissy Steelers fan came along and did it. I was mostly fine with your post up until the last sentence, everything before it was basically neutral and I wasn't going to up or downvote you. Your last sentence, however, comes across as "I'm butt-hurt now grovel for penance or say something self-deprecating to validate my opinion" rather than an attempt to get some sort of meaningful answer or insight.

Now that probably wasn't your intent, but that's how that last sentence comes across and colors the rest of your comment.

Michael Bisping "Boetsch isn't going to knock me out", "Lombard’s been knocking out part-time fighters" by MattyBlayzein MMA

[–]hulk_krogan 2 points3 points ago

I think Bisping is just a smart promoter. He knows that the easiest way to get people to talk about him is to be a little abrasive and even a little cocky. Even if people want to see you lose, they still want to see you; which is much better than being forgotten.

His interviews, I imagine, are closer to his real personality because he realizes that most people aren't going to read or hear about them so he's got free reign to be himself.

Personally, I like the guy as a person and as a fighter. He just strikes me as smart all around.

Most unpredictable team heading into 2012? by cakebulletsin nfl

What about them?

A better example for a franchise that went against what I said would actually be the 49ers of the 80s and 90s. Two HoF quality QBs back to back make things a lot easier on the staff to help keep the organization dominant.

The Patriots before the 2000s were one of the 8-8 teams that could swing either way for most of their existence with a few runs of basement dwelling. This last decade they've been one of the top teams, and they may also end up on a run like the 49ers and extend their run of dominance for a while longer, but consistent poor drafting position due to success and time are working against them so it does make things more difficult.

Well every NFL team kinda is. There are only a few teams that are pretty much guaranteed playoff locks barring a disaster and there are only a few teams that are guaranteed to be in the basement barring incredible luck. Everyone else is an 8-8 team that manages to snag a couple extra wins or lose a couple games based on schedule/weird circumstances.

On top of that, the teams at the top and bottom cycle in and out every decadeish.

Yeah I realize it's in the Czech Republic, but the team is in the Austrian Football League.

Looks like the ball bounces off the upright, Lions player catches it and tries to run it in but gets tackled. I'm pretty sure this is still in the era of the goalposts being at the beginning of the endzone, so he didn't get in.

Most of the teams' official sites have their schedules, here's the Raiffeisen Vikings for example. The only team, that I've found, to have regular streaming seems to be the Raiders, though.

Some extra information on the two teams:

Panthers

Raiders

The Raiders have looked dominant in this game so far.

Highlights up to this point include a ballboy getting trucked and the Panthers punt returner looking like he got put to sleep with a monster hit.

Edit:

The two Raiders RBs, HofBauer and Greine(sp?), just seem to be running with impunity. The Raiders in general look a class apart from the Panthers.

Definitely got the personnel for it. Tolbert/Stewart for the dive option, DeAngelo Williams for the outside pitch, and Cam's no slouch. I could see them trying it as a way to change things up, but I doubt they'd rely on it overly much.
