He was a guest on our morning show a few years ago and our producer mentioned that I was a fan. After his interview he asked if he could come back to the control to say hi to me. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but we've had a lot of "celebrities" come through our station and so far he has been the only one that actively wanted to meet a fan instead of just hopping back in his car and driving off to the next gig.

I think it's all about timing with these things.

I don't think this is part of the joke, but the irony in this situation is that the Technical Director is the guy who pushes the buttons on the production switcher. So the camera shot of him eating a hot dog and looking surprised wouldn't have been shown on air unless he punched the button to make it happen...

I'm working on a 2-deck card game and for my testing purposes I went to walmart and found some standard poker decks of cards for $1 each. Then I got some label sheets that are just a little bit smaller than a card.

So now I can just print out my mock-ups onto the labels and stick them on the cards (actually more tedious than I make it sound). The benefit of this is that I don't have to cut anything and the cards feel pretty natural in your hand. Also, since the cards come in either red or blue (just like bicycle), it helps with keeping the 2 decks in my game separated.

I started working on my game because I wanted to make something to give out to friends at work for christmas gifts. I'd love to get it polished enough to the point where I could try doing a kickstarter to self publish it...but it doesn't have zombies in it so it probably wouldn't get funded :P

I had a semester where my earliest class was at 8:30am and my latest class that day was a screening that started at 10:00pm (so it didn't get out until past midnight). Luckily I had a little bit of time to take a nap in the middle of the day.

The girlfriend and were at Texas Frightmare this weekend, but we managed to sneak in a couple rounds of Kittens in a Blender and Zombie Fluxx while we were waiting for a panel. After losing for the last time in Zombie Fluxx (in fact I've never won a game) I got fed up and vowed never to play Fluxx again.

For some reason I had convinced myself that it was just an ulcer. Some of the common indicators for gallstones weren't there. I didn't eat greasy/fatty food, and they were happening during the day (a lot of people get them after they've gone to bed). I'm also really apprehensive about hospitals, so that didn't help. Eventually I was in so much pain one night that my girlfriend was finally able to convince me to go to the ER. I ended up having two operations and spent over a week in the hospital because of it. Normally it's an overnight procedure, but I developed some acute pancreatitis from the whole ordeal. Good times.

This. I endured regular attacks for 3 years before I finally went to the doctor about them (I'm an idiot). I was getting to the point where I thought I might kill myself during an attack to just to make it all end.
