Yeah your face is ugly, but on the upside, you've got a great body and nice hair.

In around 120 years, every person currently alive will be dead, and the earth will be completely populated with people that have not yet been born. What other inevitable facts about the future do you think about? by diddletapflamdiddlein AskReddit

[–]hans1193 0 points1 point ago

Think about how interesting it would be if you could see the Facebook profiles of ancient Romans. In a couple hundred/thousand years, anthropologists will look back on old profiles to get an idea about the culture today. Your great great great great great grandchildren will be able to look at your spotify playlists.

Reddit, as a classical musician, tell me what we could do better. What is it about classical music that keeps you away from our concerts? by a12345678910in AskReddit

It's a pretty big problem, because musical training confers pitch discrimination, and without pitch discrimination, one is unlikely to find the intricacies of classical music pleasing.

US elections: Why does the world's greatest democracy offer just two choices? by TommyCollinsin TrueReddit

[–]hans1193 0 points1 point ago

Why do people ignore the elaborate system of caucuses and primaries when they talk about "just two choices"? The fact is, if you actually care, you can get involved at a very early stage in the game, when there is a field of dozens of candidates all vying for endorsements. Yes, candidates with more money will have an advantage over those with left, but it's ignorant to assert that there is only "two choices".

Parties are just collections of interests. In parliamentary countries, multiple parties form coalitions, which is the same thing as interest groups working together under the banner of the two major American political parties.

Also, every airport now has nice sit down type restaurants that you can go to AFTER you've been through security, in which you can get full on steak knives with your meal.

I am the product of an incestuous relationship (my parents are full blooded siblings) and I'm tired of the way society views people like me. Should I get over it or should I start calling people out for making rude comments? by helpmeout89in AskReddit

[–]hans1193 0 points1 point ago

Honestly? You were dealt a really difficult and unfair card in life... I don't think anyone is going to dispute that. The problem though, is that life in general isn't that fair. The fact is, your family and the people who know your story are going to keep treating you the same way, and there's really not much anyone can do about it. The cultural taboos against incest are strong and reasonable. The prejudice you are describing is simply NOT going to go away, all you can really do is learn how to live with it.

My best advice would be to start a new life somewhere that people don't know your story. Make it so everyone you meet is going to learn who you are, not what you are. Let your history fade in to time, and embrace your future without looking back.

The harsh realization that the internet is (not) serious business seems to be sinking in.

If BPD is more common in young women, can you "grow out"of it/"therapy out" of it, or does it evolve to something else with age, or what? by whatnowdoin BPD

[–]hans1193 2 points3 points ago

BPD is much, much more common in women.

It wont really "get better" over time per se, but hormones stabilizing as you age can make it more manageable.
