So that's how it happens by THUMB5UPin WTF

[–]gloomdoom 0 points1 point ago

Jesus Christ, this thing gets submitted more than, 'Reddit, what's your most offensive, off-color joke' in r/askreddit.

You guys act like the fucking internet has reached its end and you're digging through the bones. Are you really that desperate for submissions?

Reddit what are your favourite offensive/inappropriate jokes? by sdimaria13in AskReddit

[–]gloomdoom -1 points0 points ago

Jesus Christ. Doesn't this fucking question get submitted every fucking day?

"Askreddit is for thought-provoking, inspired questions."

And this is the best you fucking retards can come up with. That and, 'OMG! My girlfriend is fat! Is your g/f fat also?"

Reddit, you have become the proverbial sinking ship, I'm afraid and new redditors are getting dumber by the day.

A 4th grader was wearing this shirt in school today by gsizzle21in pics

[–]gloomdoom -2 points-1 points ago

You're talking about old reddit before the pay to play older republicans got ahold of it. You know...they're concerned about family values and shit like that in between cries of 'communism' and 'socialism.' They have to at least pretend to give a shit about people once in a while. Coddling corporations full time can be tough work.

A 4th grader was wearing this shirt in school today by gsizzle21in pics

[–]gloomdoom 1 point2 points ago

Does the fourth-grader have parents? Is it the skateboard company's fault that the kid wore it to school? Why are people so socially retarded these days? There's nothing that's blatantly disgusting or offensive on the shirt. It's a joke, clearly. It's satire.

I was sent home a few times from school for wearing 'inappropriate' t-shirts. Just made me want to push their limits and keep doing it.

I think it's ridiculous that people get so worked up about shit like this given the state of our country. If you ride a skateboard and you go to a skateboard shop (or fuck, the mall for that matter), you can buy ANY adult shirt in a size small or X-small. That's just how production works.

I doubt anyone is losing sleep wondering if some fucking kid is going to wear a shirt that's clearly satirical about 2 pandas in some kind of sexual situation.

But to be honest, if I had a kid and he wanted to wear this, I'd be cool with it. I know he wouldn't really understand what it was implying and I'd realize that other 4th graders probably wouldn't either. And if they did, well, you can't exactly blame the skateboard company or my kid for that now, could you?

Loosen up. It's not like he's promoting alcohol consumption or cigarettes or swear words or nudity...IT'S A FUCKING JOKE.

It's not like these companies who are specifically making CHILDREN'S clothing (ie: g-strings for 10 year olds that say, 'heartbreaker' on them). It's a small size of an adult shirt. Get the fuck over it.

Coal industry pays fake activists $50 to wear pro-coal shirts at public hearing by day465in politics

[–]gloomdoom 2 points3 points ago

You're a fool.

The unions are the only thing that kept the middle class around as long as it did. Hiring protestors? If you make less than $1.5 million per year (and I'm guessing from your apparent level of intelligence that you do not), then you should be out there standing up with what's left of the working class.

I'm sure you have a great deal of education when it comes to the labor movement and know all about the history of the unions. That's generally how reddit works these days.

For fuck's sake, you're probably getting paid by fucking corporations to make anti-union comments. Can't have a tilted democracy if 'the people' realize their only solution is to band together and stand in solidarity.

So take your shitty 6th-grade education and go fuck yourself. You know what a union is? I didn't think you did. It's when a lot of people come together who don't have a lot of money but will fight and stand in an effort to balance out the humongous influence of corporate dollars.

It's that simple. And you're a fool if you can't comprehend that. A fool and a sycophant, and there isn't a shortage of either in America these days, unfortunately.

If you want to fucking elect a coal company or an oil company to be president, can't you move down south (assuming you're not already there) and just elect a fucking corporation to run your shitty state of uneducated, inbred morons?

Unions angry with Democrats over lack of help in Wisconsin governor's recall - TheHill.com by jamiesandersonin politics

[–]gloomdoom 10 points11 points ago

They deserve to be pissed off. The democrats have stood idly by and watched republicans pillage and profit and steal without even lending a floatation device to the middle class.

Democrats have always supported labor and vice/versa during the past 30 years because of lack of other options. But they've only received mouth honor from the politicians on the left because we've created a political system where the richest rule everyone else.

The unions have historically been the ONLY way the average workers can stand up to corporate dollars. And historically, they have won. At least they did until the government (under Reagan, of course) condoned publicly busting unions.

After that, union membership declined and so went the middle class. And if people don't stand together again, they can kiss what's left of the middle class far, far away. Those are the options: support unions and stand together or just crawl into your spider holes and pretend that things couldn't get worse.

Members of the House want answers from Governor Walker (R-WI) amid new evidence he lied to Congress by MadCityJin politics

[–]gloomdoom 10 points11 points ago

LOL...I'm shocked. The foxes are watching over the henhouse again.

So you're telling me that a bunch of politicians who were bought by the Koch Brothers and placed into House seats are going to judge another republican who was bought by the Koch Brothers who was placed into the governor's role?

Sounds solid. The impotent dems won't do anything to change this, the republicans will suck him off and send him on his way with a powdered bottom.

Wisconsinites, you are on your own. I implore you to stand together and do whatever is possible to make sure this guy is removed and replaced. You're up against some of the largest money in the entire world and the goons they've hired to steal your state.

Don't let Wisconsin fall because if it does, the rest of America and many, many other states will be very close behind.

Right-Wing Billionaires Behind Mitt Romney: They're trying to buy a presidency - and they expect a big payoff on their investment by mic9aelin politics

[–]gloomdoom -3 points-2 points ago

LOL...'trying' to buy a presidency.

Tell me: When is the last time that very, very wealthy people didn't get exactly what they want in America? Wasn't when McCain lost because they were smart enough to hedge their bets.

The bottom line is that the wealthiest Americans get exactly what they want in this country always because they can buy it. It's that simple. Anyone who still believes in democracy in America is a blind fool.

The truth isn't even hidden anymore. They do it in the light of day..they rob, they pillage, they do whatever they like and they're above the law. If they don't like certain legislation or it keeps them from profiting in a maximum capacity, then they buy the legislation and change it.

Why I'm Leaving Facebook by TheNickLovinin TrueReddit

[–]gloomdoom 19 points20 points ago

Facebook has had a good run but the problem is that it's so closely imbedded with popular culture. Exactly how Friendster was, exactly how Myspace was and that's exactly why it will eventually be a wasteland of older people and younger people when the next thing comes down the line.

I know Google Plus thought it was going to be that entity but it will have to be the right thing at the right time that will dethrone Facebook. But it will happen within the next 6 years I believe.

As for the terms of using it, they're the same fucking rules that every site with that many users would demand. And the same kind of rules that Google enforces on those who enjoy its free gmail. The era of the anonymous user experience is gone and it will never return.

As lawmakers do more and more to control and censor the internet, your experiences will be more and more limited and they will be highly controlled and highly patrolled. That's just how it's going to be because people don't even care when they lose freedom and liberty and privacy in real life. What makes anyone think that corporations are going to feel any pressure to allow any of those things online?

They won't. It's paramount when you're controlling people to make them agree to terms that hand over power and privacy. And very, very few are going to not use a service or a site simply because of user terms. Not enough to make a dent in the popularity of it at any rate.

So say goodbye if you need to...I don't think facebook will mind. Certainly not enough to change the way it does business. It you ask me, it's a business that's doomed to fail, almost designed to fail. But it's like the war industry: As long as a handful of people get very, very rich, it's perfectly fine to end up with a massive body count and the end still justifies the means for those in control.

"I mean yeah, the vast majority of people with depression have no idea until they see a counselor."

This is bullshit. Care to cite a source? One of the problems with clinical depression is the ridiculous amount of inaccurate information about it. That kind of thing does not help those who are suffering.

VAST MAJORITY of depressed people don't know they're depressed? That's retarded. Utterly retarded. I'm guessing that it occurs that those who aren't depressed are depressed but one of the things about depression is that you fucking feel depressed.

And people recognize that for fuck's sake and they recognize the difference it makes in the quality of their lives and how much that is directly affected.

If someone has to tell you that you're depressed, you can bet your ass that it's not a serious case. Who in the fuck loses all interest in their own lives and doesn't feel depressed?

Jesus Christ, reddit. You're upvoting shit like this? I thought you guys might be a little bit more practical and less retarded. I should have known better.

It’s the older generation that’s entitled, not students by Tarretin worldnews

[–]gloomdoom 28 points29 points ago

This argument is absurd. It's pure hyperbole. The facts are that baby boomers helped create the world that they're destroying. That's why some feel entitled to it, I suppose. But what has this generation of young people done to stop it?

Their grandparents and great-grandparents formed unions, stood up, stood in solidarity when things got tough. They MADE a better future for you. The corporatists came in and took it all back because American workers had become idle and apathetic.

In the past, our society was guided by youth and their energy/excitement/activism. These days, (If you want to speak in hyperbolic terms) all this generation does is sit on the computer or happily work mediocre jobs. They have sat back and allowed it all to be stolen from them without so much as a fight.

So in the end, everyone gets what they deserve in a way. Want a better future? Then for fuck's sake, stand up and organize. Do what your grandparents did. They FOUGHT for the things that you're still enjoying today. MY parents did the same thing. They stood on strike lines and labor lines, survived labor disputes so they had a more fair shake at life.

If this generation can't fix it by logging onto reddit or facebook, they throw their hands up and bitch about how their world was destroyed or stolen from them. No organization. No activism (short of a handful of 'Occupy' folks), no fight, no battle, no standing up at all.

And you feel robbed because people aren't handing it to you on a silver platter? Each generation has a responsibility to itself and to the next generation. Maybe it wasn't made easy for you by your parents, but stand the fuck up if you believe that.

Corporations and government realize that youth groups are pushovers. They COUNT on the idea that you won't vote if you're between 18-30. They rest comfortably at night realizing you lack the balls and spines that your grandparents had when it came to fighting back.

And what are you doing? Living up to their expectations. That's for sure. You want a social revolution where things change and are more fair? Then start one. Otherwise, shut the fuck up. And keep staring into your monitor because, you know, you can really change the world from your keyboard with a bag of doritos in one hand and a burger in the other.

You're not mad because you don't have a fair shake...you're mad because you realize that if you DO want a fair shake, you're going to have to fight for it like the generations before you. And that doesn't set well, does it?

Just be honest about this if you're going to argue and debate: The truth is that earlier generations were more hardy, more active, had bigger balls, were harder workers and, well, this generation is the exact opposite. And where exactly is the mystery of how/why things have changed? You have changed and corporations and government have pushed and pushed you and you've rolled up into a ball.

Did you think they were going to hand something over to you to encourage you or tell you everything is going to be fine?

It's maddening. It makes no sense. Americans get the government they deserve...that goes for all ages. Not just the young or the old.

My friends like to do some very strange things... by Laika027in WTF

[–]gloomdoom 26 points27 points ago

Your friends seem very needy for attention.

This stuff isn't strange...it's what a generation of people do who crave attention and validation like it's some kind of drug: HEY EVERYONE! LOOK HOW WEIRD I CAN BE! I'M SO OBSCURE!

And how that works to impress people I will never, ever understand. The era of cool was about understated confidence and being seen without trying to be seen. There was an art to it.

These days, it's the exact opposite. The person who screams the loudest for attention always gets it and it's launched this culture where it's just accepted that if you want attention badly enough, you just put on weird clothes and take kooky photos and that's that.

It's the era of sheer desperation.

But look at the first image of the woman in the bikini. Women's eyes go further south than even the guy's eyes.
