I picked up a 6 pack for the novelty. It's good, not incredible. It was fun to try though. I'm not sure I would buy more in the future.

TIL that "King of the hill" was cancelled to make room for "The Cleveland Show" by AntToeKneein todayilearned

It's a great injustice, I know, but Brittany Murphy died soon after it was cancelled, so idk that it would have continued.

I guess they could have found another voice actress.

I thought ps3 reliability was better than the 360? Didn't 1 in 3 of them fail? Also, I think the ps3 was a major factor to blurays success.

Is there anyway to purchase seed boxes anonymously in the United States? by A24Lin torrents

[–]geeeeoffff 0 points1 point ago

Hypothetically, if you had some unreleased work you wanted to leak you should first be extremely careful that the data itself can't be traced back to you.

For example, I'm sure screeners are digitally marked so they can be traced back to who they were originally issued to. This may be in the file data. Studios also might digitally add spots to certain parts of the movie. For example, they know if they see a spot at a certain time and place in the movie they know the 20 people who have copies with that spot.

I guess it depends on what it is and where you got it.

If you are not worried about the file being marked, I would get a laptop, drive somewhere with free wifi and upload it to a public tracker. Get out of there after it is well seeded. Delete the files. Maybe throw the hdd away if you are really concerned.

[–]geeeeoffff 0 points1 point ago

I don't see why it wouldn't work in the states, but I've never tried.

I think most seedbox users just pay with their credit card. I'm not totally sure how seedboxes work, but if you're worried you could get one in another country with good privacy laws. This will complicate the process of finding you.

Your transfers to/from the seedbox should be encrypted if you do not want people to be able to intercept and see what you are transferring.

This should be fine security wise. They aren't going to go on an international man hunt to find a guy downloading 'The Avengers'.

if you're planning on seeding some original content (like a screener you found) you should be extremely careful, and you should take steps beyond what I've talked about.

uh, i've heard of people getting those prepaid visa cards and punching in fake info when they buy it. but even then you are on camera buying the thing.

just depends on how paranoid you want to be.

Reuters: Google Drive to offer up to 100GB of storage, Tuesday launch teased by hollyshortin gadgets

[–]geeeeoffff 0 points1 point ago

they did a couple 50gig promotions. if you signed up on an hp touchpad or an android phone for a while, you got 50 free gigs.

I wish they let non-business customers use their sync client though. uploading things manually is a pain.

At a different event that might be possible. But it sounds like they are saving photo ops for people who pay the 5 grand. I have to think the big donors might get annoyed if he started giving freebies.

MS in Computer Science or Bioinformatics? by munickin bioinformatics

[–]geeeeoffff 0 points1 point ago

I work at a software company, people with an MS in CS make about the same as those with bachelors. So money shouldn't factor too much into your decision.

I'm not saying you shouldn't get it, but at this point I think it's a personal decision you have to make. You should do whichever program is more interesting to you.

I think if I were you I would sign up for regular CS classes and then audit a life sciences class in one of your first quarters. And maybe chat with an advisor about the decision.

"He wants us to trust that a 400-ml bottle of liquid is dangerous, but transferring it to four 100-ml bottles magically makes it safe. Anyway, They made me sit in the principals office for a whole day. Man it was boring.

[–]geeeeoffff 2 points3 points ago

I just want it to play like the original. If they can pull that off then I might get it.

also, depending on a few things, i think I might just get it for pc. Not that I'm hating on ps3, i just prefer mouse + keyboard for shooters when possible.
