The best part was the two women hugging in the intro. Space, stars, time machine drawings, women hugging, a Swede. Wait, what?

X-51 ordinary-fuel scramjet to fly on Tuesday.'This will be as big as going from props to jets' by karrildaltayain technology

Here's something that caught my eye: "If successful, the X-51 is expected to lead in the short term to new missiles able to strike faraway targets quickly and hit so fast as to be extremely difficult to defend against."

Sounds like this research flight is a piece of the new Nuclear Posture Review released mid-April by the Obama administration. The Prompt Global Strike system is a non-nuclear weapon for use against time-urgent regional threats.

Too bad first use will be weapon-based.. at Mach 6, I could be in Rome in time for a mid-morning cappuccino.

Did you know, even in "Private Browsing", "Incognito", "don't open the door, I'm uhhh, buying presents" mode, Flash still keeps cookies and lets each website store upto 100Kb on your disk. GO TO THIS LINK AND SEE THE FUCKTON OF SITES, DELETE THEM by jstddvwlsin reddit.com

From OS X Daily: http://osxdaily.com/2009/11/13/delete-flash-cookies/

Flash cookies are located in two locations, shown as follows:

~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects

~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/

  • Delete all of these folders if you want to delete ALL Flash cookies

Alternately, download Flush to automatically remove the cookies: http://machacks.tv/2009/01/27/flushapp-flash-cookie-removal-tool-for-os-x/

Leaning toward purchasing a Macbook Pro; how many of you would recommend purchasing Apple Care? by gusbustafunkin apple

[–]funtimes 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The support you get with AppleCare both on the phone and in store is excellent and worth the expense. Keep in mind two things: 1) if you are on the fence at all, you have 1 year from the date of purchase of your Mac to buy AppleCare for your product(s). 2) If you are part of an educational institution or know some one who is, the teacher discount for AppleCare is huge e.g., MBP 15" AppleCare retails for $349 but education store sells it for $239. If you don't have access to this kind of hook up, check Amazon for cheaper prices than the Apple Store.

I bought my Crucial 4GB RAM upgrade at Amazon for $68 with no tax/free shipping (same set listed for $91 on Crucial.com). If you aren't positive on the exact setup of your RAM, use the Crucial system scanner for a quick result.

So what problems have you run into with Snow Leopard so far? by [deleted]in apple

[–]funtimes 0 points1 point ago

When I play WoW, open up iTunes, and then watch a video podcast, my MB Pro completely locks up. This only happens with this combination - (audio files in iTunes + WoW will play with no problems). These problems didn't happen using Leopard and I have all updates installed.

Also, I have a Canon MX860 multifunction printer. The driver that Snow Leopard downloaded automatically was for the scanner component only and thus I was unable to print anything. I had to add the printer manually and select the appropriate 'printer' driver (I have no idea why anyone would want just the scanner). All is well now.
