People of Reddit, what is the earliest memory of your childhood? by memebearin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 0 points1 point ago

My parents had this stroller that had fringe on the edges of the canopy part. I remember reaching out and trying to grab it, but it being super far away. Not sure how old I was, but that's my first "solid" memory.

How did you meet your best friend? by PsychoSevenin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 0 points1 point ago

My best friend and I actually grew up in the country about a half mile from each other. We were never friends as kids but "knew of" each other. Growing up, we rode the same school bus, but I was in sports and often times, my dad would drop me off to school in the morning and pick me up after practice. We never really had any interaction growing up, and the only time I really remember her is when she was selling lemonade at the end of her driveway and the cup she gave me was really sticky.

Fast forward 18 years and I'm out of high school, attending community college, and working at a video store in town. One day, we got a new hire and there she was.

That was 10 years ago and we're still inseparable. She's my sanity and my insanity – I wouldn't trade her for the world.

Redditors, how are you trying to improve your life lately? by andybent25in AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 2 points3 points ago

I've felt stagnant in my life and my job for a few years now. Within the last 2 weeks, I've accepted a brand spankin' new job at a company that I'm excited to work for, I've packed up and re-rented my apartment and will moving to a whole new city, full of new people and adventures at the end of the week. I'm excited to say that I'm actually moving forward in life!

For those Redditors that are going camping/portaging this summer, what kind of foods are best to bring to last a while? by you-kiein AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 0 points1 point ago

A few summers ago, I did 10 days in the BWCA. We had crackers, velveeta and hard salami every day for lunch. Granola with powered pudding mix sprinkled on top (softened with a little hot water) for breakfast. Peanut butter and trail mix for snacks. Dinners varied: burritos (rice, onions, peppers, packaged tuna/fish/or chicken), ramen, mac n' cheese, calzones (pepperoni, tomato paste, dough), anything that's "Just Add Water", etc.

Reddit, how do I find a good doctor? by my_cat_joein AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

When I went to find a new doctor, I chose one who works in internal medicine. She's super thorough and is always asking questions and making sure I get all the answers that I need. She's much better than a GP or any family doctor that I've had in my life.

What's your favorite non-sexual sensation? I'll start. by drukqsmorain AskReddit

I'm a girl and yes, it does feel pretty darn close to an orgasm. Who needs men or masturbation when you can just hold it in for a couple hours?

What's the strangest thing you've been told by a stranger? Something that left you struggling for a response... by iB-Riiin AskReddit

"You're 28, don't have kids, and have never been married? Why?"

Yeah, I didn't really have a response to that one...

Seriously Reddit. How gullible are you people? by DaJoker117in AskReddit

I don't think it's a bad thing. If nothing else, it just shows people's humanity and willingness to help someone out no matter what – troll or no troll.

My sister is a nurse. This has been known to happen after a few parties.

Any foods that are liquid/solids. (Watermelon, grapefruit, etc.)

I'm also a fan of multi-beverages (alternate taking a sip from each different beverage). Coffee, water, cream soda, gatorade.

If all else fails, greasy fast food.

Have you ever felt more loss waking up from a dream than you have felt from events in real life? by bumacin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

I don't have children (I'm 28). I don't even have a boyfriend (No potential for children in the near future). One night, I had a dream that I was at the funeral for "my child". The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. His name was Kevin. Needless to say, I woke up bawling and absolutely distraught. The horrible, horrible heartbreak from that still resonates with me today.

To make it worse, the father of my "dream" child was my best friend's brother, who I used to have a very close relationship with, but hasn't spoken to me in years.

I'm supposed to write a letter telling my best friend how much she means to me. I am so awful at this stuff. Reddit, why is your best friend your BEST friend? by Rae_hersin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

My best friend summed up our relationship and progression into our new "adult" selves as such:

"The old us would offer us a drink, but being the new us, we already came in through the back and mixed our own."

It may not make sense to you, but this is the best summation of not only our growth as friends, but also our growth as human beings.

Does anyone else have Crohn's disease or IBD? by gnashyourteethin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

I have acute colitis. I've had since I was about 12/13 years old (28 now). It used to be a lot worse when I was younger and I would frequently have to take OTC medication for it (I stopped using preventative medication around 19/20).

As I've gotten older, I've started recognizing things that trigger it – stress (or high emotion), greasy foods, dairy, etc. Sometimes it's caused by things, other times it'll come out of the blue.

Last year I had a colonoscopy. I was put under for the procedure, so that wasn't too bad. The worst part of it was drinking the prep for the procedure. YUCK!

Anyways, I've been told to keep an eye on things (any worsening symptoms), and I will probably have to continue to routinely get checked for the rest of my life (to make sure it doesn't develop into something even worse).

It's a pain in the ass (har-har) when the "spells" come on and there isn't a bathroom nearby, but yeah, I deal with it as it comes (though sometimes the pain is crippling).

Good luck to you!

When my brother was 5, he came running into the room fanning his mouth and saying "Hot! Hot! Hot!". Turns out he drank some of my mom's perfume. I can't even imagine how horrible that would taste!

What is the creepiest/most eerie place you have been? by getoffmylawnspookin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 0 points1 point ago

I grew up out in the middle of nowhere. If you drive even further out, down a long, wooded dirt road, you'll come upon a small cemetery. No houses close by, a few headstones, a few wooden crosses. I've had more than my fair share of creepy feelings out there.

What's your favorite story to tell? by johnnycadein AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

TL;DR Cabin party. Douse random, passed out neighbor with water. Neighbor wakes up in a rage, reaches into the campfire, grabs a log and chucks it at my head. Cue me deflecting the flaming log, matrix style, with chair. Friends drag drunk away. Drunk reappears 2 hours later, naked, covered in gorilla glue. Drunk proceeds to take a seat and peel chunks of hair and flesh from his body. Ahh, the good ol' Liquor-lympics.

Anyone have any funny/interesting sleepwalking stories? by JoeyQuomsin AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

My sister was home visiting and came stumbling into the living room where I was watching TV. She disappeared down the hallway and a few moments later, I heard a huge CRASH!

Turns out, she sleepwalked into her old room, tried to get onto her old bed – which is no longer there – and crashed onto the floor. Didn't even wake up.

Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it and how'd you get it? I challenge you to beat my story. by enad58in AskReddit

[–]freefallbydefault 1 point2 points ago

My sister calls me "Gimpy". Not a funny story or anything, but I used to play soccer when I was younger and had weak ankles (and crooked knees). This would lead me to, more often than not, limping or "gimping" around.

20 years later, she still calls me that, and I can't recall the last time she's actually called me by my real name.

Reddit, who was your first ever crush? by snowwhitetrashin AskReddit

Patrick Swayze. I don't know why I was allowed to watch "Dirty Dancing" as a 5 year old, but I'm not complaining.
