As a tall man (6'5") I can confirm this. I wear a 36Wx36L and nearly all large retail stores do not carry anything larger than a 34L, while almost all XXL stores do not carry anything smaller than a 38L. I am in the no-mans land of pants sizes, and this is very frustrating.

My typical shopping experience is as follows: sift through every single set of pants the store has to offer only to find out that they do not have any that will fit me.

You should see if there is an organization in your area that is willing to help fund the procedures. In Denver, CO we have the Tails of Woe organization which helps out when owners cant afford surgery or if strays need medical attention.
