I realize that some things will require gasoline or petrol or diesel or something, but I feel like an island ought to be as self-reliant as possible. In this case, that probably means electric stuff from renewable resources.

I want a nap. And then I want lunch, probably a sandwich with sauteed vegetables of some sort and a glass of ice water. I'll probably need to do some work outside, then come in, take a shower, cook dinner, read a book and go to bed.

So, in order:

Shelter.
Food.
Electricity.
Drinking water.
Running water.
Electricity and more food.
Lights in my shelter.
Security.

Like I said, depends on the jurisdiction. Some places you can refuse to blow and you go to jail for refusing to blow (since, when you got your license, you signed a statement consenting to sobriety tests).

Some places, they can then compel you to give a blood sample.
