Hmmm I get to train how to be a surgeon for 9 years (that's AFTER medical school and undergrad), work 60 hours a week, start making the "big bucks" at age 36 after being the best of the best academically, just so I could be paid the same amount as someone who works 8-3, gets 1 hour off for lunch everyday, never takes call at night, doesn't work weekends, doesn't work major holidays, gets several months off during winter AND summer, and a week off in spring?

i love teachers and they have given me invaluable training and i respect them immensely. but the minute i get paid like them, i'm getting my pitchfork.
