That's amazing. We'll help you find some people too. We will post it to the facebook events page and to the site. Were there any special instructions? max number of people?

Thank you. We are going to fight tracking! We don't track users, we just see how many visitors and who is linking to us. Facebook and twitter are for those who use it.

Those other bills do have a chance, but if we keep talking about our privacy concerns, we keep pushing them all back.

Could you be more specific? I think ad hoc coalitions can be really successful-- that was the lion's share of the anti-SOPA movement after all.

And I think on an individual level everyone has the right to express themselves and take action anonymously.

We're still figuring this out, but I think if Europe doesn't sign it, it's much less meaningful.

For bands, I really like: Diplo, the XX, new dancehall & soca, pretty much any new music from the Caribbean.

I don't think there's any point where this ends and you win everything forever. But key parts are a) changing how people think about this stuff by creating memes and drawing lines in the sand b) technical measures for an unfuckwithable internet and c) building on this past success so that the next time around, Congress hears from even more millions of people immediately and constantly until its dead.

Well, not everything's going to be as huge as this month, but we'll be focused on how to make as big an issue as possible out of any threat.

Also, I think a huge part of this is just changing the way people think about copyright, user freedom, and tech policy. And you can do that in the complete absence of any specific threat if you're creative and nimble enough by making issues out of things that would otherwise slip by unnoticed or inventing new issues/messages from scratch.

Depends on what level of involvement. If you've got web or campaign skills you could apply to work for us, or you could be an intern. If you just want to know about everything we're doing and jump in when you can help, sign up on our list here: http://fightforthefuture.org ... as we grow we'll have more granular ways to get involved.

Well, I think the key was that nearly every online action we did had key political actors as its target. Members of Congress were getting emails, their phonelines were ringing off the hook, and actual voters in their districts were pestering their staff for in-person meetings. And meanwhile Reddit was raising money for opposing candidates, and fielding challengers. So, we were entering their world in a big way. That combined with the open ended threat of the biggest websites in the world turning even more voters against them in an election year was what tipped it.

To sum up, I think online protests will get better at finding specific targets (e.g. politicians), finding their buttons (e.g. constituent opposition, money), and organizing people to hammer on those buttons. As that happens, many of them will really work-- and that will give online protests credibility.

To reply to your second question, probably first online. Then hopefully once we get oriented we can send people to real-life events organized by people/groups with a local presence.

In the SOPA fight one hugely important thing for us was having a set of contacts (organizations like Public Knowledge) that could see the fight unfolding from the inside and advise us on strategy. For the coming ACTA fight in Europe, we've reached out to groups like [La Quadrature du Net](www.laquadrature.net/) and KEI and we'll be talking with folks this week about targets and timing. The word is it'll be a long fight.
