US threatens Sweden with watch list sanctions if they don’t prosecute The Pirate Bay. by Mind_Virusin technology

And essentially, too late, governments are realising this. People can talk across the barriers. The Internet is the ultimate threat to the manufactured and contrived position and stances of governments. That is why it is being taken down piece by piece and turned into a paid-for entertainment pap-provider.

Utterly laughable. Collect the scattered light out the side of the polarisers with solar panels. For fucks sake. Sound energy, oh please.

I was visiting my uncle that got me into photography and he showed me a camera made in the USSR that he got in Beirut in the 70s. Has anyone seen anything like this? by mnelawarin photography

It's a camera, should be no problem in most countries with security with a modicum of intelligence. Sadly the number of such countries is diminishing fast.

It uses a Zenit body, I had a couple of Zenits back in the 70's. Kerplunckthud!! They really threw their mirrors around with a thud. Wonderful camera to learn on. I still have a box of prints I developed and printed off the zenit's . Happy days.

56 here and just the same. Got off the work treadmill and started living a proper life with good food, loads of exercise and working hard at the things I've been wanting to do. As an office worker, ten minutes hard physical work would leave me gasping. Now I'm chopping logs and outside for much of the day.

Polish waitress packs in job for 'good life' on Irish welfare by o_is_in_parisin ireland

I'm 56 years old and come from a generation that has huge respect for Poles. I was brought up on stories of the brave young poles that came over to Britain in WW2 to fight alongside our own soldiers and airmen. Those Poles that made it through those years many stayed and had children that I went to school with. Now the Poles I see are hard working in the catering industry, in agriculture and the trades.

I have nothing but respect for the Polish people. How quickly we forget the fraternal links formed in adversity only a couple of generations ago.

Kind of wondering what the fuck were talking about here. Did you read my first comment? Peak oil is peak production though. Consumption has to match it. You can't consume more than you produce.

Errr, peak oil is peak production. It's the whole point as it puts a constraint on consumption.

Yeah, it's a function of peak oil. It's hard to call as it requires hind casting to see. Sadly the fuzzy dating doesn't make it any less real.

Parents take 2 & 3 yr old sons on trip. Family goes to sleep in tent, kids unzip and slip out to drown in river. Prosecutor Robert Smith to give each parent 40 yrs on manslaughter for lacking "common sense". Losing your kids is bad enough punishment, isn't it? Can we give them some support? by Jasonlovestummyrubin news

I'm not arguing it's a crime. Never mentioned criminality of the act. Merely responsibility. I said they are responsible and grossly negligent but I maintain jailing them is stupid and pointless. I used the highway analogy to point out that some dangers are obvious, others less so, but it doesn't make them less of a danger. To a two year old toddler, a river is as dangerous as a highway. And the parents are negligent if they don't see that danger

Now what was it you were saying whilst calling me a moron?

Yeah, and there are usually human causes to tragic accidents. Would it have been a tragic accident if they'd put their tent next to a busy highway? Is a river 20 yards away any different if your kids can't swim?

Had they pitched their tent next to a ten lane highway, and taken sleeping pills, would they have been seen as responsible with kids that have to be locked in their room at night? Why is 20 yards from a river any different. I came to this article seeing it as clear cut, but after reading it I can see they were at minimum, grossly negligent.

However incarcerating them is pointless, stupid and shows no humanity.

I find it interesting that they can target one species so effectively but in other articles we read that antibiotic resistant bacteria are killing more and more people worldwide.

I wonder if RBS would have got bailed out by the UK taxpayer if Scotland had been independent when it crashed with 40 billion losses.
