Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2. They are a testament to our changing industry. by Cheeseterin Games

[–]fatdefacto 18 points19 points ago

Torchlight 1 imho was more like an experiment. An infinite hack and slash experience with very little story and freedom, yet really entertaining at the price of 20$. It was good, especially if you added the IMMENSE amounts of mods the community developed.

That's not just your opinion, they were originally making an MMO and torchlight was kind of a very polished prototype that they released as a game to introduce people to the world and continue funding their MMO.

I guess they just made a bucketload of cash off Torchlight and decided to keep the business model instead of moving to a fully fledged MMO.

A gun shop owner's response to protesters by Hug_It_Outin funny

[–]fatdefacto 4 points5 points ago

A) Most firearm deaths are suicides (which is why the gun death number is 32,000), saying they would just kill themselves another way is demonstrably untrue.

B) Not sure where you got 70% from, that link clearly states that only 46% of homocides had a black victim and 52% had a black offender, so black on black crime must be somewhat lower than 46%

C) The fact that in areas where homicide rates are low, gun homicides are low shouldn't be suprising

D) Gun bans in cities don't really matter if you can just drive out of town and pick one up.

I think the difference is obese people know they are fat, and that there is something wrong with them, and they know what they can do to fix it, they just don't want to or don't feel they can.

Anorexic people genuinely don't think they're skinny (or that if they eat they will become fat) and don't think there is anything wrong with them.

LNP to allow mining in Steve Irwin's wildlife reserve by munttedin australia

[–]fatdefacto 10 points11 points ago

A) Only 49% of Queenslanders voted for the LNP - 70% of the seats != 70% of the vote.

B) In my 10 years of voting, I've never agreed with every single policy of any party I've voted for. Voting for a party doesn't mean you agree wtih every single position they have, so please stop over simplifying things.

In a display of participatory democracy unknown in the US, massive public protests in France have lead to a ban on planting Monsanto's genetically modified corn. by klmdin environment

[–]fatdefacto 2 points3 points ago

I meant insecticide, round-up is strictly a herbacide, this article is about insecticides.

[–]fatdefacto 4 points5 points ago

That article has nothing to do with GM corn.

Also before someone mentions people use more pesticides on round-up ready corn, round up is a herbacide, please learn some basic biology.

Of course they could just wait for them to go bankrupt and buy them out. Let's not get confused here, Bethesda publishing is ZeniMax, not those friendly devs who bring us the Elder Scrolls, Pirate games and Fallout.
