What do you think the Internet will be like in 20 years? by R3ssurectin AskReddit

[–]fapficionado 1 point2 points ago

People won't even think about it, any more than they think about electricity now. It will be everywhere and everything will be connected to it and you'll take it completely for granted until it cuts out.

I just applied for a job at The Apple Store as a "Creative". Do any current or former store employees care to share what the interview process is like and what it's like to work in a store? by latecenturyin apple

[–]fapficionado 1 point2 points ago

I applied for a job but circumstances meant that I didn't get offered one (I was going away for a while).

  • Before anything at all happened there was a NDA we all had to sign; literally we didn't get into the room until we'd signed it.
  • Then there lots of presentations to us about how wonderful Apple was and how successful the Apple Stores were. Which was weird because we all wanted to work for Apple anyway.
  • Then people from Apple spoke to us personally about how wonderful it was to work for Apple. See above.
  • Then we went around the room and talked about ourselves a bit. Highlight, the kid who said "I've owned five iPods. I keep breaking them, I'm terrible with technology".
  • Then we were divided into teams, and did a role-playing exercise which was meaningless, but allowed them to see how we all worked in a team.
  • Then there were follow-up group interviews a week or so later where a smaller group of people spoke with some more important Apple people.

Two quick things:

  1. What do you think the salary will be? You might be over-estimating.
  2. What they may do is tell you to work in retail for a while, then move up to Creative.

He's doing it all wrong. He's supposed to live in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and investigate Michelangelo sculptures.

Upvoted because I was going to say the same thing. GIFs can and should be optimised.

Why are you not putting spaces before your parentheses? It's driving me crazy.

I actually like video playing in a little window. Old TV shows I've watched many times. It's very hard to convince my wife that I'm actually working though.

Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne: Update 1 by Derfermanin community

My son loves this. Can't wait for a fuller game.

It definitely needs instructions, like space to jump. Is there some kind of shooting? How do we stun the dirty hippie?

Also, we need a "replay" button. We shouldn't have to quit and relaunch.

Came here to say that. It's the catchiest of the tiny unrepresentative sample they arbitrarily chose.

Also, "during the court of the research"? Even the article is flawed.

You're sick of threads like this, or you're sick of people posting "This"?

Good point about the ambiguous word.

Quite right, but I'm not doing that.

Well then wait till the end of semester or whatever, or talk to her fellow instructors.

It's pretty unprofessional for her to go on dates with students anyway.
