TROPHY CASE

The reason I love breakfast in SA... by hollarpeenyoin sanantonio

I prefer it now. I have definitely gained an appreciation for quality flour tortillas and fajitas here!

But I don't think it reflects well on us as a community of fans to go stirring up shit in someone else's house.

I agree. Win the division first. Then win a playoff series. This team hasn't done those two things in a long, long time.

I was a little surprised they let him in the ballpark with that.

Do you go to routinely go to Dave and Buster's afterward? I was thinking that might explain this.

I go there once in a while because I'm from up north and it reminds of tacos up north. It also dependably serves Pepsi products and I have a strong preference for Diet Pepsi and Diet Mountain Dew. There aren't many fountains in town other than Taco Bell that have Diet Dew.

Only one vote and it's down? You've all fallen out of love for Evan Turner, Mike Conley, and Daequan Cook?

Video of Mesoraco's grand slam against the Braves by excoriatorin Reds

[–]excoriator[S] 0 points1 point ago

My issue with him, at least early in the season, was cERA. The pitchers performed better when Hanigan was catching them. Granted, that measure of success might have been a factor of who he was saddled with, especially Bailey, whose pitching has improved since early April.

I am warming to Mesoraco. I admit I was not a believer in April, but I no longer dread seeing him start.

Will Denard Robinson be a Heisman finalist? by Zoorunin CFB

In all sincerity, I'm intrigued to see what the Brady Hoke offense will look like when he has a QB that he selected.

Don't forget Dems can vote against Lamar Smith in the primaries on 05/29 by robphelanin sanantonio

[–]excoriator 0 points1 point ago

Assume that the Republican will win the general election in this solidly red district. The Republican primary just determines who wins the general.

Lockout probably messed up his routine, too.

But if they do, they won't be able to vote for any Democrats in the state and local primaries and they'll have to look at a "Republican" stamp on their voter registration card for the rest of 2012.

And assuming Lamar Smith wins, which I do assume he will, they'll get extra mailings and robocalls from his next primary campaign, since they voted as Republicans in the last primary.

Might not be worth it, is all I'm saying.

It’s Somehow Getting Worse For U.S. Senate Candidate Craig James; Even SMU Fans Hate Him by MidwestDrummerin CFB

[–]excoriator 1 point2 points ago

Craig James is a non-entity in this race. There are 3 candidates spending millions on ads and I have yet to see one bit of media from him. From my perspective here in San Antonio, he only has a slightly higher chance of winning it than I do and I'm not running.

Cardinals lose 9-10, Reds now in 1st place in NL Central! by RyanJGin Reds

[–]excoriator 2 points3 points ago

I was at a ~4-hour long minor league game, watching the Cardinals AA team lose in 12 innings to a walkoff single by the Padres AA team. $6 seats behind home plate! (Almost 30 hits in this game and only 5 runs.)

Saw the outcome of the Reds and Cards games on the scoreboard and smiled.

Tell them that the Reds set a hospitable tone by giving Chipper a going-away present at the beginning of the series and they shouldn't expect more hospitality than that!

[–]excoriator 0 points1 point ago

Since the outcome of this game help moved them into first place, it'd be silly for anyone to fault you on this one!

[–]excoriator 0 points1 point ago

Aww. I also miss the old rivalries in the 2-division system. Although considering some of the miserable west coast road trips the Reds have endured since the NL went to 3 divisions, I have to admit it wouldn't be in their best interest to bring the 2-division split back.

Expensive loss for the cattle owner, since they probably can't be processed after this.
