The original might be tempered. A local hardware store might be able to tell/sell you you what you need like frosted tempered glass in the right size. If the frame is removable, bring that along. I'm all for the plexi if you have that at hand for other projects, but perhaps not for food. Like another poster said, thicker the better. One thing to note is that it will scratch and be a bacteria trap.

I saw on Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" that Fall River, MA has one of the largest Azorean populations and is known for some fantastic Portuguese food. I'm planning a road trip to Exeter, RI in the very near future and Fall River is not too far away. I'd like to know who has eaten and can recommend a good Portuguese restaurant. Thanks.

Edit: ate at Cinderella's based on a very local recommendation. Tiny menu, but in a word "phenomenal"

Will try to post later. Been a 400 mile day across 5 states. Well worth it.
