TROPHY CASE

They shut the servers off making the app effectively useless.

It's not dishonest. They brought the team in house. They bought the rights to thing. They recognized the potential of the thing they bought. They improved on it in house.

They're not taking credit for something that isn't theirs. It is theirs.

They purchased Siri, probably for 9 figures.

This happens all the time. Almost any piece of software you use has at least a component originated by an outside company. Look at Google alone (you'll find similar lists of acquisitions for almost any medium sized company in technology).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_acquisitions_by_Google

So I don't get it. They paid a lot of money for a company and gasp integrated it into their products? You know what is fair credit for your work? Millions of dollars. That's what most of these small technology companies exist to do: build something awesome and get bought for a lot of money.

The way they did it is fair criticism (essentially removing existing users access to the app), but the rest of that comment is just insane.

100% of what is on /r/gonewild would be considered porn by the court.

Does that apply to people who have undoubtedly seen underage girls on /r/gonewild ?

My boyfriends sister is visiting and brought over her cat. by chaneenin pics

[–]enjo13 6 points7 points ago

No, you introduce the cat by convincing your dogs that it's part of the pack. Since you (the human) are the natural leader of the pack, it's pretty simple really. The dogs will accept the cat pretty quickly if they feel like you (again, the natural leader of your little pack) treat said cat like a pack-member.

If you are not the leader of your own pack, well that's another issue that you need to fix.

I've had many cats and dogs happily coexist in my lifetime (and a guinea pig and a bird for a short time). It really isn't that difficult.

John Elway is as bored with the offseason as we are by Jux_in nfl

[–]enjo13 0 points1 point ago

Tebow manufactured a lot of those sacks. There was a 3 or 4 game stretch were Tebow basically refused to throw the ball if receivers weren't running wide open.

The five best teams the Broncos played where at the beginning of the season. When the schedule strengthened near the end they went...1-4.

[–]enjo13 0 points1 point ago

He does think that, and history would certainly bear that out. You don't win Superbowls in the NFL without a great QB. The Broncos didn't have one, now they do (if only for a few seasons).

I'm really struggling with your point. The Broncos, with Manning, are a MUCH better team. Probably one that can compete with Pittsburgh, Pats, or Texans. They have a QB that can drive a 26 point a game offense. They have some real talent on the defensive side of the ball. Those two things will complement each other really well.

That's WHY you get rid of Tebow, because with him as a starting QB you'll never be able to consistently beat those teams.

Needing a car in Denver? by GetIntoMyCarin Denver

[–]enjo13 1 point2 points ago

I have a car that I exclusively use to get into the mountains. I live in the Highlands. I get pretty much everywhere by some combination of bike, taxi, and bus. We pretty much chose our house for proximity to a grocery store:)

I have a couple of friends who live in LoHI who don't have cars. They are car-share members, and that works really well.

My brother died today, at 28 years old. I've never had to deal with the loss of a family member before, do you have any pieces of advice you could offer? by Jinjitin AskReddit

[–]enjo13 0 points1 point ago

I lost my mom to cancer (fuck cancer!)... to be honest I was never particularly sad. I didn't mourn really. I picked up and lived my life.

I sometimes still feel guilty about that. Like maybe something is fundamentally broken in me.

Yet I don't think so. I loved her in life and I'm sad that she's gone. I just didn't need that healing process.

Lets just go with the ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Tebow delivers an easter sermon

Tebow does an anti-abortion commercial

There are many more examples.

Homeless-camping ban signed by Denver mayor by kidbomin Denver

[–]enjo13 4 points5 points ago

I agree. I'm a former Downtown resident. The pervasive homeless sleeping and loitering around Downtown is a big reason I'm a former resident. I LOVE Downtown. I was very happy living there. However, stepping over homeless people as I tried to get out of my building, or worrying about my wife when she walked our dogs really detracted from the experience.

You have to balance the needs of the homeless against the needs of the people who actually fund our center city (the residents and business owners).

The New Orleans Saints Must Sign Drew Brees To A Long-Term Deal by SheNerdin nfl

You cut the entire team if that's what it takes. There isn't any point in even fielding a team if you let Brees go.

[–]enjo13 6 points7 points ago

That's the max allowable. This case doesn't warrant anything close to that. He'll likely get off with minimal jail time. He'll lose his job and be a convicted felon for the rest of his life.

That sounds about right.

Who is one player you think, that if given a better situation, would be one of the best, if not the best, at their position? by eirinn312in nfl

[–]enjo13 1 point2 points ago

16th in points. They racked up a bunch of yards, but Cutler was incredibly interception prone and struggled immensely in the red-zone. It was an 8-8 team that missed the playoffs.

No joke. The city of Chicago has completely lost their minds with regards to Cutler. He's barely top half of the league.
