Unions angry with Democrats over lack of help in Wisconsin governor's recall - TheHill.com by jamiesandersonin politics

They honestly thought Democrats were for labor?

Why a Growing Movement of Young People Could Ignite a Workers' Revolution. Every revolution needs two essential ingredients: young people, who are willing to dream, and poor people, who have nothing to lose. by allliein politics

Arise ye workers from your slumber. Arise ye prisoners of want. For Reason in revolt now thunders, and at last ends the age of can't!

Anarchy, the anarchists would say, is the truest democracy.

The vaunted skills you need from your employees are indeed unacademic, since basic capitalization is apparently unnecessary.

Ummm... grad school is supposed to be like that. If you get less than a B, you lose your assistantship and drop out. That's as it should be, because grad school is supposed to shift the focus from courses to research.

Where do you think the General Assembly process came from?

Wall Street was chosen because our message was, "Smash capitalism!" We should never have backed off from that.

We should have kept everything focused on reinstating the Glass-Steagall Act, ending corporate personhood, and keeping politicians honest. But then other movements latched on to Occupy, like the birthers and the anti-abortion psychos latched on to the Tea Party and eventually made them into a big joke.

What do you mean, kept? Occupy started as an anarchist revolutionary movement.

It's the economic definition, so it's what matters if we're talking about the economic impact of automation. There are, of course, other impacts and other meanings.

Top CEO Pay Equals 3,489 Years for Typical Worker by anutensilin politics

[–]eaturbrainz 1 point2 points ago

But again: it's unfalsifiable. How could you tell if a CEO was really "worth way more than 3489 average people"? How do you quantify and measure it, test it?

He represents the precise amount of the vote he got, and even that's flagging because he narrowly avoided new elections that would have put his reign at risk.

Which countries work the longest hours? -- "Generally speaking, long working hours are associated with lower productivity per hour" by quadcemin worldnews

Recently the UK government urged the country to work harder, after slipping back into recession.

I love how the governments in capitalist countries think you can solve an overproduction crisis by working harder.

I don't see how it is two different matters when undocumented immigrants in the USA cannot work at all or have to work under the table (or perhaps I read your post wrong?).

The Israeli government's profiteering games are in the guest workers with visas. The American government's profiteering games are in kickbacks from the under-the-table employers of illegal immigrants. That's the difference.

It's a group of people voluntarily working toward a particular goal.

There's a nasty gray-area between "voluntarily" and "forced", labeled "wage-labor". How many corporate workers would keep doing their jobs if they received their income from something other than that job?

Survey shows marked worsening of German image of Israel by niceworktherein Israel

I don't understand, why there are no stronger efforts, trying to connect both nations.

Because there's little actual advantage in strong connection with Israel, but there's a lot of advantage for a European country in strong connection with Turkey and the Arab countries.

And that there are so many of them is evidence that they are among the most hated groups in America, right?

It is evidence that many Americans, particularly conservatives and libertarians, would rather have a tyrannical homeowners association than a working town government.

I can also, anecdotally, attest to the truth of the statement. My family hates their neighborhood association. It keeps trying to do things like tell people their dogs can't poop in the undeveloped swamplands.
