Leno survived because he took over for carson, people had their routines and they stuck with them. The guys a hack, hes a safe bet for celebrities and politicians to get their names out because they know he wont ask them anything more than generic fluff questions, and his bits are mostly lifted half assed versions of actual funny bits real comedians have done in the past. Your entire argument is "shit is fucked up". I agree, shit is fucked up. But you fail to bring the all important piece of the puzzle that is "how ron paul is going to make things less fucked up". i just dont see it, its easy to point at how shitty things are, but RPs plan is just bad and doesnt take the future into account. Hes viewing the world from too small a window. Id love to see a decent third candidate believe me, RP just isnt the one for me.

Religion has nothing to do with it, he's out of touch with some important realities of nature. Realities that will effect important decisions. Whether hes out of touch because of religion or some other reason is irrelevant, you've got nothing except appeals to emotion with good basic ideas and no real plan behind it, which is really all his campaign has given you. It isnt that RP is a bad man, he just isnt seeing the whole picture on too many issues that are important to me.

I would never advise "trusting" anyone. Especially a politician (including Paul) What I am suggesting is that perhaps there are more important issues in the world to look at.

For somebody to say that they are on the fence on things like evolution and global warming, as a medical doctor even, tells me that he does not have a firm grip on reality. im not an all around gung ho obama supporter either, but at least the man has his finger on reality. Ive also heard RP refer to homosexuals as "sinners", and im also not thrilled with his stance on womens right to choose. These paint a picture for me, a picture of a man who really is all around well intentioned, but does not have a grounding on reality.

My beliefs are based on my checking out both mens' agendas a long time ago. You said yourself that yours are based on "im pretty sure they have it worked out". I checked it out in an unbiased manner around the time when RP was debating, he shone above the republicans no doubt, but his train derails for future generations.

I know what would be bad, making corporate mind slaves. Thats what a RP society would inevitably lead to, we need a certain amount of socialism for particular things that everybody wants in life. Schooling, police protection, fire, prisons, do not belong in the hands of corporations. Sorry, education is number one for me and RP wants to send it backwards. Your argument that "it isnt working now" is cute but it doesnt tell me how RPs plan is any better, if not worse. Again, same thing i get from all RP supporters- things suck so lets try something completely different, regardless of whether its been well thought out or not. im all for trying something new, believe me i hate the two party system we're stuck with as much as anyone, but RP world just doesnt add up for me, and nobody has yet to make me see how it can.

You can't always use history to prove events of the future, as time progresses things change. Society changes, education sucked before 79 and it sucks now. Don't believe me? Go talk to people you know who graduated before 79, you'll probably find that most of them are voting for Romney. Things have changed dramatically since 1979, an educated public, in my mind, is of the utmost importance. We can't go on living in this technological world in a place where nobody knows anything about it. Letting the corporations run the show is a sure fire way to make children into little corporate mind slaves, they'll be good at what they do, they'll be specialized to perform tasks, but at what cost to humanity? I tend to look at the bigger picture, and RP just doesn't seem to see it the same way.

No, actually my vote will ensure that the doe doesnt get eliminated, which as a parent is a huge concern of mine. Bigger than the right to smoke pot, which as much as i think is ridiculous, isnt all that hard to do without getting caught in most parts of the country as it is. My vote is for the future, go map out how a ron paul world will look in 50 years and see what you come up with. Personally i saw coke logos on police cars, and corporate sponsored homework assignments.

Like I said, fix it, don't kill it. Every other week you'll hear about a bible belt state attempting to teach creationism in schools as fact. There needs to be federal education requirements, truth is truth and giving each state leeway to do whatever it wants is a sure fire way to making more stupid.

I was vaguely interested in RP for about 20 minutes, then he lost me on almost immediately on his stance to eliminate the DOE VS fixing it. States cannot be trusted to handle their own education systems. Whats "true" in TX is also "true" in MA, he doesn't seem to have a handle on that notion. This alone would do enough damage to our nations' future for me to not even give him a second shot.
