How does modern summer camp work? by heymrkin AskReddit

[–]dropdeadfreddidit 0 points1 point ago

I work at a summer camp, when kids arrive we tell them cell phones are not allowed. One because it's camp, but also due to spotty service and if a kid is homesick and calls home upset they could randomly lose service then you have parents thinking something bad happened.
Kids still get letters from their parents, we also have what we call "bunk mail" in which parents can email a message to their kids and staff will deliver it.
We deal with homesick campers by keeping them busy. If it is bad enough we will talk to our village directors, who talk to camp directors. Everyone will generally take a day to contact the higher up so by the time the camp directors know it's already Wednesday or later and the kids have gotten over it. Kids very very rarely go home early.
We don't have a lot of problems with kids hooking up. But the staff however is one big incestuous family.

My sister told me that when I was younger and I've avoided stripes of all kind since then.

I would love to be there for you! If you ever just want someone to tell things to, tell me. I don't know how much I can help but I would be more than willing to hear you out and be someone to vent to.

I woke up around 5am and was starving for some reason, the only edible thing near me were Flintstones gummy vitamins. I was so healthy that morning.

Women of Reddit: How much does a males height influence your level of attractiveness towards him? by Fetus_Omelettein AskReddit

[–]dropdeadfreddidit -1 points0 points ago

A lot. I'm tall, short guys are a problem. Sorry to say.
Here's the deal, in a relationship a guy should be the dominant one. When a guy is shorter it switches role to an extent. It's weird. Sometimes this is never a problem but sometimes it is.

Flights can be stressful, this past summer I flew back from Austria to Philadelphia (I as 18) alone. It's honestly quite easy however, it would be really difficult to truly get lost. Even if you do there are people that are there to help everywhere.
Take it easy, bring a book, relax. I hope everything goes smoothly! :)

I agree! A huge amount of her friends contributed, and there were a handful of diabetics (myself included) who lent a hand as well. I'm proud of her :)

Reddit, what's something someone you know needs to hear, but don't have the heart to tell them? by dbtdiddyin AskReddit

Aw shit.
My friend recently got shitfaced at a party then went to someone's house party. I got worried and called her up (after not hearing from her in a while) and she answers in tears, begging me to come get her. Okay so I go, it was like a 10 minutes drive. She clearly overstayed her welcome there. And she was still way too drunk. I deal with this malarkey and bring her back. Turns out she locked her keys in her car, not her car keys but her room keys. I let her stay in my room roommates bed. I give her clothes. I bring her water. Next morning another friend asked what happened so I tells her like it was. My now hungover friend wakes up and is all pissed, I ask what's wrong. She goes on to cal me a bad friend and give me all this shit. I was like dafuq. Bitch I saved your ass.
It doesn't even end their. My roommate got mad at her for not saying anything (like thanks for being cool about it or sorry for being trashed) and this bitch says it's my fault, I should have apologized for her and why did I let her sleep there. So that's cool.
I'd love to tell her she is an ungrateful bitch who needs to stop fucking drinking (this shit happens too often) and fucking learn to say "I'm sorry". OR say "Thanks for helping me out." Yeah bitch never thanked me.
