Too bad you missed the beginning of this play when McDonough? had incidental contact from Gionta's "high stick" and was too busy trying to sell the call to cover him. And as such, GOAL.

Fired for being "too hot," New Jersey woman claims by hypoboxerin newjersey

[–]desmondsdecker 2 points3 points ago

I'm not a bigot. I've said nothing bigoted or even directed towards an entire religion. Everything has been a statement of fact. The references to Orthodoxy's treatment of immodest women are not only a well-documented statement of fact from news sources and primary sources but are also:

a) relevant to this article since this post relates to Orthodoxy's treatment of immodest Jewish women

b) relevant to my comment of a hypocritical livelihood

Nowhere do I say, "Orthodoxy is evil and every member should be killed because they are Satan incarnant." or anything ridiculous like that. Nowhere have I said "Orthodox Jews attack immodest gentiles," in fact it's "Some Orthodox Jews have attacked immodest goyim."

You wish I did because then you would feel better about harassing me all day. Rather, I provided other examples of treatment of immodest women by members of Orthodoxy but not the overall movement.

If anything, I disagree with any and every hypocrite, bigot, and archaic member of society - especially if they justify it with religious extremism - because it slows the progress of the human race. While you complain that I advocate violence against my people, I'm shouting out the pusillanimous members who mandate behavioral laws and mores while breaking them daily themselves.

Damn homie, just saw that you COMPLETELY changed this post to make me look like an idiot. The little asterisk next to your post indicates you edited it or in your case, rewrote and reworded everything you said. Which you did because first of all, nothing I said:

sounds like you're fired up and interested in committing hate crimes.

and you definitely did NOT have anything in the original post about modesty is public and lingerie is for private encounters. I would have agreed with you on that point, just like I said down here:

You are intimating that their profession is not hypocritical to their beliefs because a woman has the right to wear sexy undergarments for their husbands (or the obligation to remain sexually appealing, I'm not sure how fundamental you are and whether you believe that women exist to serve men or that women exist as their own separate identities and have the right to live their own lives.). That is perfectly fine and acceptable and I'm glad there are couples out there who maintain an active and healthy sex life in a committed relationship. Were they to sell these sexy undergarments only in their community only to married women, there would be no question that this is not a morally hypocritical business. But they are selling on Fifth Avenue to everyone. They are propagating immodesty, which in their community is reviled.

So nice try to completely change everything you said to make everything below look like I'm some crazed syphilitic ranter. I'm done with this conversation. Or what has been, in my perspective, making logical statements and conclusions while arguing with a flaming troll.

You're totally right, Orthodox do not spit on immodest women or girls. I made that up. Or disregard that my ex-girlfriend served in the IDF and was spit on constantly while in her civilian clothes carrying her M16 automatic rifle. Protecting and serving Israel is mandatory, but if you show some shoulders you deserve to be assaulted and discriminated against because women who dress provocatively are terrible. Because men can't control themselves.

You are advocating ignorance. You would rather pretend that none of this happens, let's allow these sorts of things to happen. Because:

  • Pointing out that a secular group discriminates based on their beliefs is fine.

  • Pointing out that fundamental Muslims attack immodest women and force theirs to wear burqas and hijabs is acceptable

  • Pointing out that fundamental Christians attack immodest women and force theirs to dress modestly is completely cool.

  • BUT pointing out that fundamental Orthodox Jews fire someone from their lingerie store for having big breasts is anti-Semitic and I hate Jews and want to kill them all and whatever else is happening in your little fantasy world.

Just because you are burdened with the guilt and obligation to blindly defend discriminatory actions by extremists of the Jewish faith doesn't make their actions right. And it doesn't mean that I'm burdened with the guilt and obligation to blindly defend everything those in the Jewish faith do solely because they are Jewish.

Your original point was that it's not hypocritical Orthodox Jews sell see-through undergarments or sexy overgarments despite having very strict dress codes because there are no religions who wear lingerie in public. Ignoring the fact that is a nonsense response and by no means a response to my original statement:

Is no one going to point of the irony and hypocrisy of Orthodox Jews who make millions off operating a lingerie operation yet complain about female immodesty?

That would be similar to selling non-kosher food for a living or working at an anti-circumcision nonprofit. Do they wear lingerie in public, eat trafe, and keep their bodies intact? Mostly likely not. Do they profit from engaging in business expressly forbidden by their religious interpretation? Yes. Does that make them hypocrites in that they are 'do what I say not what I do'? In my opinion and in the opinion of those who have ever read anything by Aristotle or those he has influenced over the last 3,000 years: YES

They interviewed and hired this woman knowing how she dressed and knowing she has.. erm.. sizable assets. Then tormented her by making her tape her breasts, wear a robe, and wear baggy clothing (which still wasn't enough). If she was a completely incompetent worker, this would not be an issue as at-will companies have the right to fire based on performance. But from what I've read this seems like complete persecution based on religious ideals which are diametrically opposed to their business..

Anyone see Book of Mormon? How "family friendly" is it? by Clayburnin nyc

[–]desmondsdecker 2 points3 points ago

After the first couple of scenes, she started getting uneasy about the quantity of female circumcision jokes.

But I told her they were mocking the fact that while these are serious problems in Africa, Mormons, instead of donating money to help buy condoms and mosquito nets or volunteering to help raise awareness and help these people, send their youth to proselytize and preach. The "Fuck you, God" song while offensive out of context, really makes sense in context of the play because these people have it so bad that they don't want to hear the story of magical Joseph Smith.

Then she told me to shut up and eat my sandwich. I made that last sentence up but the rest is true.

[–]desmondsdecker 1 point2 points ago

...Where did I say anything anti-Semitic? All I said was "Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy in their actions when their community holds diametrically opposite beliefs to how they make their living." That's a unbiased observation and argument. Am I anti-nokhri because I made the exact same example of Fundamental Christians who preach abstinence running a sex toy company? "No, because, well, I can't easily justify getting butt hurt when you mock Christians!"

I'm glad you're not insulted by someone who disagrees with you. You're not a child.

Oh, you're just herp-derping on the fact that no one wears lingerie in public. Ignoring the fact that wearing a bathing suit in public is perfectly acceptable and that standard lingerie offers the exact same coverage as a bathing suit, you're still missing my point: the Orthodox spit on immodest women, the Orthodox sell immodest clothing to women, the Orthodox fire a woman for having large breasts and wearing tight clothing.

Because you run a Magic clan out of your computer room, I'm sure your 'business dress code' is a lot more lax than usual. But my coworkers with large breasts wear V-neck shirts, tank tops, and tight t-shirts because we have a casual work environment. If you work at a very casual environment like date entry in the back office for a lingerie store and came to an interview in this clothing, wore this clothing to work in a lingerie store, and were fired for having a body, you would rightfully have cause for a wrongful termination case. But since you know everything about lingerie and labor law, I'm sure I'm wrong.

[–]desmondsdecker 8 points9 points ago

We have a bad ass here who didn't read the article. She wasn't wearing lingerie, she was wearing clothing and alleges she was told to tape her breasts down because they were too big.

Ignoring your TL;DR trolling here, you missed my original point: they base their modern day lives on what life was like as nomadic desert farmers but sell sexy undergarments to "immodest, immoral, heathens". While I applaud their resourcefulness and entrepreneurial initiative, it does make them flaming hypocrites for denouncing form-fitting clothing, t-shirts, and 'large breasts'. That would be like fundamental Christians preaching abstinence and sexual purity while operating a sex toy operation that sells polyurethane molds of porn stars' vaginas. Give me a break.

Wearing a form-fitting sequined black dress and black leather, sequin-studded boots, Lauren Odes, 29, said her Orthodox Jewish employers at Native Intimates told her that outfit and others like it were "too hot" for the warehouse.

From the Daily News article:

Odes, of Manalapan, N.J., was dressed in a purple minidress with side zippers when she interviewed for the job.

A pint-sized brunette with platinum streaks, Odes said she was wearing a dress when the female supervisor first said she was too sexy for the job. Odes wore a gray T-shirt and black leggings with rain boots the next day. But the bosses still complained.

“‘Lauren, try taping down your breasts to make them appear smaller,’” she claims she was told.

I saw the show with my very British 50 year old Mum. She was crying from laughter. Here's Hasa Diga Eebowai

Also, there's lots of AIDS, female circumcision, rape, and poverty jokes, and of course, General Butt Fucking Naked. But it wouldn't be persistently sold out if it wasn't hilarious and done tastefully. That's right, a song whose hook is "Fuck you God in the ass, mouth, and cunt" is done with class.

ELI5: Why did Zuckerberg go public with Facebook's stock and why are the shares tanking? by illymaysin explainlikeimfive

[–]desmondsdecker 4 points5 points ago

It's a good analogy but it doesn't go far enough. Think of everything Naberius just said. Except before the crowds get to see the movie it's shown to movie stars and executives so they can decide if they like it and want to give them money towards a sequel.

Then the public gets to see it and after they're disappointed they go to Rotten Tomatoes, r/movies, twitter, blog, tumblr and give their review. It also goes a step further: you get to watch all the behind the scenes stuff, every minute, every detail and criticize whether the audition reel showed Jake Lloyd as illiterate and the other kid as a much stronger and better Anakin and Episode I could have been pretty awesome and so can Episode II if they don't get someone shitty, I dug him in Life As A House (who we found was pretty terrible because from our perspective the ILM are evil.).

When a company goes public they have to open their books and sometimes divulge confidential trade secrets, algorithms, etc. The movie stars and executives are massive Institutional investors like pensions, hedge funds, and states so they have more money to invest for longterm (sequel and franchising) growth. You and me get to see it when everyone else does. And when we do we have voting rights in the company as shareholders/co-executive producer.

And it's not pretty at Facebook. It could be worse but General Motors pulled out and 40% of ads aren't clicked so they're not sure whether the billions they're paying are being made in ads but most of the value of facebook is the information in their database. I'll provide the links and clarification in a bit, I'm mobile right now.

Fuck everything about this illegal occupation and expansion.

I really hope Obama gets re-elected so he cracks down on this shit instead of giving Israel more money it has and doesn't need for an expanded missile defense system they already have and don't need.

And instead gives it to the starving and depressed apartheid ghettos of Gaza and West Bank.
