/r/dvdcollection: What sacred cow would you like to slaughter? by underthemilkywayin dvdcollection

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who wasn't a huge fan of Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead one is one of my favorite movies ever, certainly my favorite horror movie. But I thought that two kind of shoe horned in the comedy, I didn't really see the point.

Do Streaming Movies Decrease Demand for DVD's? by jjgamesin dvdcollection

[–]designated_diver 1 point2 points ago

Well what I find myself doing with streaming is that's how I watch the movies I either can't afford or just can't find. Netflix has in the long run saved me a lot of time. I still prefer buying my dvd's because I like having a physical copy of whatever

I think it was the one where Marge starts selling pretzels because all the other ladies in the booster club started selling pitas. I could be wrong though. Edit: found the title I think. "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson", s08e11.

I have personally found that certain things that I've seen streaming have lead me to buy it on dvd or blu ray. I had originally only seen I Saw the Devil and Twin Peaks on streaming and I now own both. It is handy though to weed out the movies that I can't live without and what movies are only good once ortwice

When I hear people complain about waiting for their favorite show to start... by ttmlkrin venturebros

[–]designated_diver 1 point2 points ago

I have been waiting 9 years for the sequel to Deltron 3030 and it's finally coming out this year. After that I'm sure I can wait for just about anything

I think that is the only way to have seen it apparently. I too was watching it really late after having studied for finals all day and it was raining. I put this on because a friend of mine told me it was alright. Took me by surprise because it scared the shit out of me and I like to think that I've gotten fairly accustomed to horror movies

Is a pipe worth it? by Nerflein saplings

[–]designated_diver 1 point2 points ago

a bubbler is a pipe that has a chamber filled with water stemming off of it to filter the smoke. And glass is nice because it's affordable and easy to clean. I personally have an old tobacco pipe that I bought and it works really well. Its pretty nice at keeping the cherry rolling too

Question for your collection: What's the weirdest you've got? by ProteusFinnertyin dvdcollection

[–]designated_diver 1 point2 points ago

Same thing with Ichi when the lady keeps switching between English and Japanese was one of the more surreal parts of that movie with the camera moving constantly. Granted it's been a while since I've watched that one and I may very likely be confusing it with something else

[–]designated_diver 1 point2 points ago

I think you may actually have replied that to me haha. But having since gone and watched Tenchu Izo makes so much more sense now. The Gozu Lynch comparison is fairly appropriate and I hope you don't mind if I steal it to describe it to my friends

I'm the man who will be taking care of you on all of your drunk diving excursions. You want to take shots and explore a reef, you call me. You want to have a kegger with your buddies and then see if there is pirate loot in that chest at the bottom of that sunken ship, you call me. I'm the guy who will make sure that even if you want to roll on pills that no sharks will fuck with you under my watch. It's nice to meet you Mr. The Tap

I remember finding my copy of Wizards at Toys R Us a couple years back and being startled that I found it there for the low sum of three dollars. That opening scene in Visitor Q was one of the most fucked up parts in a movie I've seen. Well that could really be said about any of those scenes
