TROPHY CASE

Mobile phone prices up again - is Three your unlucky number? by Little_Kittyin unitedkingdom

[–]deepbrown 0 points1 point ago

Yeah it is sneaky, but that's what they're saying. Implied term. Looks like Which? are on the case with this - they say they'll hear back from three tomorrow.

Actually, doesn't look like that term applies in this case:

4.1 We may vary any of the terms of your agreement, including our Price Plans, on the following basis:

(a) any updated Price Plans and new terms will be available on our website and on request to 3 Customer Services;

(b) if you are a Pay Monthly Customer, we will let you know at least one month in advance if we decide to:

(i) discontinue your Price Plan; or

(ii) make any variations to your agreement which are likely to be of detriment to you; or

(iii) increase the fixed periodic charges for your Price Plan (if applicable) by an amount which is more than the percentage increase in the Retail Prices Index Figure (or any future equivalent) in any twelve month period.

You can end the agreement for such variations as explained in Section 10.

The rate is not higher than RPI, so Three is arguing that you have no right to cancel. I think that's terrible.

I don't think any one of his accents was anywhere near accurate - which is quite a talent to get them all wrong.

He explains why at the beginning of his talk. He's written books about addiction, and articles. He's been through the shit and back - that's why he's qualified.

[–]deepbrown[S] 4 points5 points ago

He's quite anti-celebrity himself as can be seen in the video above.

Much of his comedy and discourse is based on drug use and additiction - if his voice and knowledge can accurately and intellegently express these ideas, and in many cases better than others, I don't see there being any harm in him approaching them.

Which makes Portal 2 a bad recommendation. The thing is - with a bit of practice he could pick this up easy.

You do funny things on drugs. Shows how much it can inhibit you. His comedy is a matter of taste yes, but his intelligence is not up for debate.

The answer is multiverses. You may shoot yourself, but it's not really you - it's your doppleganger in another parallel universe. Ie. when the worm hole is created the universe is split in two.

The shooter will keep on living in his universe, where the shot will die in his universe.

I fear you may be begging the question.

Surely the debate is whether drug addicts are criminals if the only act they have committed is that of taking drugs (criminal acts that they do while on drugs are not up for debate - those are still criminal acts, though they may come with a different sentence than if they were sober when committing them).

What decriminalisation of drug taking could do is put less effort on arresting and imprisoning addicts, who often carry on their addiction in prison and when they are released, instead spending (probably far less) money on treating them through rehabilitation etc. This in turn would have a doubling affect on reducing other more serious crimes.

Why wouldn't you agree with Russell Brand? Almost everything he says is spot on.
