I used the same settings as you.

I usually play with my settings on "high" and v-sync on, so it was interesting. :)

Running the factory OC speeds - 715MHz / 1430MHz / 3600MHz.

I was running them both at over 800MHz for a while, but I had to back off a bit, as my PSU couldn't handle the load.

I am only running a Corsair HX620 - which (according to Corsair) should not be able to run my cards in SLI at all!

Edit: how are you bench marking btw?

I have 2 x Gigabyte GTX 460 OC Editions (1GB RAM, factory overclock) running in SLI.

I'll benchmark in the next 48 hours so we can compare.

I'm running:

-Intel i5 2500k, Asus P8-Z68-V Pro

-8GB Kingston DDR3 HyperX (1600MHz CL9)

-Crucial RealSSD C400 128G

Apart from the CPU, my system seems pretty similar - it will be interesting to see how much your CPU is bottlenecking things.

Brisbanite here. I've never lived in a home with a basement. You would be better off looking for a house with a separate garage/workshop.

No. The people I have spoken to are Temporary Permanent employees (same conditions as a permie, but on a rolling contract), consultants, and contractors.

The problem is that in a lot of cases the consultants and contractors are there because the permies can't actually do the work. The temp-perms are often there because someone on secondment/materity leave/disability needs a position back filled.

It has been my experience that it is generally the long term permies who are dead weight, but they are too difficult to get rid of.

I'm a federal government contractor, money is not a concern for me at the moment.

The real money in Brisbane is in contract work, as far as I can tell.

I'm not concerned about my role, I'm concerned about the sheer number of temps/contractors about to be shown the door.
