TROPHY CASE

Congrats, you showed off your knowledge of computer architecture. You must feel good about yourself.

I will revise my statement by saying that sub-OS quine applications can replicate themselves without the use of the "copy" and "cut" commands of the operating system.

Quine programs can replicate themselves without the commands of an operating system.

The last paragraph has direct quotes from the "My bf thinks that SRS is filled with book burners" post in SRSD, and the first two paragraphs are based directly on threads where SRS draws a party line (including the mass banning of /r/clopclop users)

Privileged? No. Only people they don't like are privileged.

So if a man enjoys My Little Pony porn, they are a pervert. If a man indulges in rape fantasies, they're a potential rapist. If a man has a certain set of characteristics that he finds attractive, he's a racist.

But if a woman has her own set of kinks and turn-on, she's perfectly within her right to do so?

This goes to show that SRS isn't here to fight bigotry on Reddit or even to call out bigotry. They're here to set a double standard. If you point that out in SRSD, you're benned for "invading their safe space" since there's "no freedom of speech inside someone's house". If you dare go outside of the lines that their double standard sets, then your freedom of speech will be followed by "freedom of consequences".

There are subtle ways to build attraction. Play hard to get, act like you don't care, learn how to tell a good story, etc.

Complaining about the Patriarchy and how someone has been conditioned by society is not one of them.

I'd be offended, but I wouldn't create a new subreddit dedicated to launching invasions against small-penis shamers.

Edit: To clarify, I think it's a form of speech that can possibly set off bad reactions. I do not think it is unacceptable speech, though.

I don't think he's been charged, though.

A couple things I wanna add in Zimmerman's defense:

  1. It was a gated community.

  2. Zimmerman has followed "suspicious" people in the past without incident.

  3. There was about 30 seconds of screaming before a gunshot was heard. I think that people believe that it was Zimmerman screaming.

  4. Zimmerman's head was slammed on the ground.

  5. Martin has a history of drug use.

So it looks like the case is leaning in Zimmerman's favor.

Okay, so...

  1. We can't accurately measure intelligence

  2. We can't accurately DEFINE what intelligence is (look up crystallized intelligence vs fluid intelligence, also, look up the g10 model of intelligence. We can't even figure out what it means to be intelligent).

  3. Whatever the hell intelligence is, we already know that cultural factors play a huge role.

  4. We won't be able to distinguish innate factors or cultural factors for a long time

5.We know that making statements about a genetic predisposition towards intelligence will lead to discrimination NOW.

  1. Lastly, we know that if we want to create a better society where qualified people get qualified jobs, it's best to SHUT UP ABOUT ANY NOTION CONCERNING RACE AND INTELLIGENCE.

I know all about Gaussian and Poisson distributions. So I know about averages and standard deviations.

But anytime you say that we should account for genetic differences in intelligence, you're essentially saying that we should judge a black man like myself by his skin color, on the grounds that skin color gives you information about intelligence.

This essentially leads to a Gattaca-like world, where all the black kids get sent to the shitty pre-schools and the white kids get sent to the A+ preschools. People will believe that, ceterus paribus, or with a lack of relevant information, people will believe that a person with dark skin will supposedly be less intelligent than a person with light skin.

That's wrong because A. If intelligence really is related to genetics, you're going to fuck over the outliers, and B. The Malcolm Gladwell article, Skinner, and Pavlov all have shown that intelligence is a muscle that needs to be exercised; preventing people from exercising their intelligence because you view their "intelligence muscles" to be weak will lead to self-fulfilling prophecies.

Once again, I'll concede that there is racism and sexism all around the world.

I'm not saying that all women lie. What I'm saying is that putting a man in jail for 4 years (where he'll get raped HUNDREDS of times) at the word of someone who doesn't really remember what happened, or who has an incentive to lie about whether she really consented, is a messed up way to conduct criminal justice.

Perhaps the victims are victimizing themselves. US colleges are open to anyone willing to work hard enough for a spot. But analyses show that inner city kids that work hard at school get punished in terms of popularity. Many post-generational victims of slavery are now engaged in a self-destructive culture that is trying to keep each other enslaved.

Alright, I'll admit that I was being a little Ameri-centric here. I'm guessing that you're from an oppressive country where the remnants of racism are alive and well? Well then you have my empathy. I'm not saying we shouldn't fight injustice, I'm just trying to say that we should fight injustice the smart way, and not blame anyone for being of a certain race. You don't see the people with numbers on their arms showing hatred against all Germans, do you?

But let's take the

  1. Explain to me how this "de facto slavery" works, and how it's a race issue and not a class issue.

  2. Did you actually read my argument? I said that the "systematic oppression of women" is nothing more than women making different life choices instead of choosing a hard-knock, fast-paced career in upper management.

  3. When you're falsely accused of rape, then you didn't rape anyone, by definition. Do you know about the hofstra case? She claimed rape to avoid being called a slut. On top of that, a woman who appears to be "fully aware and consenting and totally into you" could be blacked-out drunk and making a mistake without you even realizing it.

The statute of limitations for punishing the crimes of the past are over. On top of that, punishing innocent white people over what guilty white people did in the past seems wrongheaded to me.

Do you think all white people should go to jail for what Ted Bundy did? Do you think all black people should go to jail over what OJ Simpson did?

Or do you want to redress past grievances by putting underqualified individuals in positions of power? Is that justifiable, even if those people in power cause another Enron? Even if underqualified surgeons end up killing patients? Even if those underqualified students drop out of college saddled in debt with no degree to show for it?

Your position requires further introspection.

  1. Slavery is illegal now. I don't see what point you were trying to make.

  2. Women have the right to vote, and women have the right to run for office. I don't see your point about women only being able to vote for men; they can vote for someone who better represents their position regardless of their gender. On top of that, the lack of female representation in government could be explained by choices women make as well as "systematic discrimination". Just like with the gender wage gap: women make 75 cents per dollar that men make, but if you factor out the fact that women choose to be stay-at-home moms and that women choose careers that are less demanding and allow for child-rearing, it goes up to 95 cents to the dollar.

  3. People accused of rape automatically get restraining orders, they get their names released to the press, they get social ostracization, they can get their suspended from school or work, they live for months under the fear of prison time (where they'll get raped HUNDREDS of times), they get a nasty smear on their permanent record that will affect their future employment opportunities and possibly send them to bankrupcy, etc. Don't trivialize what it's like to be accused of rape, there's plenty of quantifiable damage done to an individual. There was a nice article on Slate.com a few years back about how rape victims and people falsely accused of rape have a lot in common. They get socially ostracized, they suffer under a lot of trauma and stress, they face some very harsh judgment from peers, etc. I believe that article talked about how a rape victim talk to someone falsely accused of rape, and they found out that what they went through had a lot in common.

  1. How can you be so sure that the data you spat out is related to genetics, and not cultural factors?

  2. Read this brilliant article by Malcolm Gladwell about how intelligence is almost entirely cultural.

  3. The "solution" that works for everyone is the solution that's currently in place. Let everyone work towards a better future. I don't see any way that you can "accept innate genetic differences" in a way that won't marginalize intelligent people solely because of their race.

You don't know what ceterus paribus means, and yet you have the gall to claim that BLACK people are inferior. Projecting much?

Regardless, black people get institutional support because many of them are the victims of institutional oppression. You can argue that the institutional support we give them is not the greatest, but you can't argue that their oppression is nothing more than inferior genes.

The name's Andry. Miss Andry. by iiain AdviceAnimals

Saying that black people are inherently inferior implies that black people should not get equal rights as anyone else, ceterus paribus.

That is just downright WRONG.
